WHAT!? CF/SD/Wifi optional? So you don't care to expand on storage space? Why bother with a 640x480 screen if your not gonna ride an open AP to view pr0n?!
BTW the Sharp Zaurus SL-C760 and SL-C860 have most of what you requested above. They are pricy though. I just picked up one on ebay for $560 (a significant discount over the $699-$849 Japanese importers are charging though) and the form factor it more like the notebook/tablet style, with the screen that swivels around and folds down both ways...
I want my PDA to be a mini laptop basically. I want the same basic functionality. I have to say without a doubt the Sharp Zaurus SL-Cxxx series, especially the SL-C760 and SL-C860 are the best PDA around. It has a tablet PC form factor, and nice size 640x480 display. The on top of all that, it runs Linux...!
Bah! Come to NYC. Manhattan is practically covered end to end with Open AP. I can go just about anywhere in Manhattan and find an open AP with in 2 blocks.
I don't think holding a phone in you hand has anything to do with it though. The majority of poeple unable to drive and talk are distracted by the conversation and not the phone in their hand. Hands free devices are not going to help. I bet the statistics for cell phone related accidents won't change a bit.
Just because these idiots can't chew bubble gum and walk at the same time, doesn't mean I shouldn't be allowed to.
Read the first paragraph of the Application before you post. It specifically patents this process based on date/time information being encoded in the picture. Not the file system date/time for the file, or any other method of storing the date time. It also specifies that the photos are arranged "presented on a calendar display".
This means that if this application was accepted, you could still organize pictures cronilogically on a calendar so long as the date/time being used was _not_ encoded in the image data of the piture file.
While I agree they used questionable tactics to get computer sellers to bundle windows, and penalized them for offering alternatives, this was not the sole reason for their dominance. Visual Basic, as sucky as it might be, made graphical development so easy that any idiot could make an application for windows. More application = more users, regardless of their quality. For Microsoft is always been about market saturation.
Have you ever noticed that certain products have such incredible market saturation that the brand name become synonymous with general product. I.E. South East U.S.: soda (carbonated drink) is often referred to as Coke. NYC Area: Ice Tea in a bottle often referred to as Snapple even when talking about another brand.
The entire "Open Source Myths" article was poorly written. It makes narrow assumtions about way too many things. I'm not going to bother to point them all out here, but the first thing that stood out to me was:
"If you're not willing to help fix it then you shouldn't complain about it" In this very short paragraph the writer assumes that "help fix it" mean "contribute source code". There are many things you can do to help fix OSS. Submit bug reports when you run into problems, post to a mailing list about the functionality, participate in the community surrounding the project in question. None of these involve contributing source code, but all of them help the project improve.
This has to be one of the ugliest mods of any kind I have ever seen. It being ugly wouldn't be so damn bad if it wasn't such a fucking stupid idea. You just butchered all those game systems just so you could put them in a difficult to carry hunk of freaking wood?! It just gay, and a waste of bandwitdh. I wonder how many good stories were turned down in favor of this crap. I think I could have made a better "NEC" from the systems, and some glue.
Ack! I freaking hate Qt! I can't wait to finish working on a gtk+2 based image. I was thinking the modular version of X at freedesktop.org would be good also and maybe waimea as the window manager. It gonna take some time to learn more about embedded environments though, since i've only be a PDA user for 2 weeks.
The more I read slashdot the more I realize that most post are from FUD spreading losers. It used to be fun to read this site since it had interesting articles, and intelligent discussions.
I'm tired of reading the crap posted here....I won't be back...
It does matter, if this whole thing is a ploy by the execs to milk the stock holders of all their money...I hope the exec who are dumping all of their stock and then using special deals to snap up more of it for pennies on the dollar are burned at the stake!
Ummm...wouldn't boiling water create additional presure and not less? Things generally take up more space in their gas for than thier liquid or solid forms.
So this would effectivly cause the breaks to lockup if it reached the boiling point as opposed to causing the brake system to loose presure.
Ummm...cop cars are not really the best way to determine traffic conditions, since in the course of a day they are constantly avoiding traffic laws, such as speed, and being able to drive around and thru traffic. Hard breaking in chases, and high speeds travling to the scene of a crime/accident would seriously skew the data.

You do know that Window XP is made by Microsoft right? What was the point of your comment?
Don't be stupid. Read the first paragraph application. Not that I agree with it, but its much more specific than you make it seem.

Is their anyone left in this world who doesn't know the story of MS's start?

This is what MS is going for but worldwide.
Weird? You must be referring to the "Ctrl-Alt-Del switch".
Hey Sony here is a clue: If the OS you choose requires that you add a special switch to handle crashes, it time to look for an alternative.
"Ctrl-Alt-Del switch" WTF were they thinking!?

No, i pronounce fsck the same way, I think it more fitting, seeing as how its more often seen in its pun format, than actual intended usage.
And to everyone that pronounces it eff-sick, fuhsck you!!
Bush = Alpha testing....Yea, I know we shouldn't be publicly testing alpha versions, but who cares...were the U.S. we can do what ever we want...
They are called "Aluminum Foil Deflector Beanie" and its not called pananoia when the man is really watching your every move!!
On a serious note...I won't be buying any cisco equipment any more. I'll just use an old box and Linux for all my needs.
I bet the people at expert-exchange are kicking themselves in the ass for not patenting this one...hehe (or maybe they did!?)

Either way water in your brakes is stupid!
