Come on, who'd buy a first-gen iPod without checking to see if it would work with their XP box? Or a Newton without checking to see if it could data transfer with Windows 3.1? That's a poor and downright misleading comparison. The listed product requirements mention XP and Vista, but didn't (and at the time of writing still don't) mention anything about incompatibility with 64-bit versions. So they list the ones they support, and don't list the ones they don't support?
What a shocker.
The official name of the 64 bit product is Windows XP Professional x64 Edition. That name is not listed on the iPhone page, don't expect it to be supported.
I don't understand is why the issue of universal/socialized health care is rarely suggested at the state level. Well I'd imagine that would be because you don't understand what "universal" means. If you did you'd understand why it's not being suggested for a small subset of the population rather than the population at large. Sorry, but it is YOU who don't understand what it means. A state's population, in regards to domestic issues, is not a subset at all. The Constitution says quite clearly I'm not talking about what constitutions say. I'm talking about the reality, the population of one state is not independant from the population of the next state over, movement between states is free and people do move from one to another. If you only have some states with free healthcare, people will live where taxes are cheaper until they get sick, and then move to leech off the system when they get sick.
I think socialism is a bad idea because its been attempted in many different countries and every time it has failed to prosper. It may be 'just' for everyone to have the same amount of money but at the end of the day everyone is better off under capitalism. 1- It has been sabotaged at every turn, it's failures are engineered, not due to an inherent flaw.
2- "everyone is better off under capitalism" might just be the most insane thing I've ever read.
But when tries to tell us that Cuba's system is better than the US he loses his credibility. Cuba's economy is so bad that it spills over into the healthcare system and they have serious problems there. Their economy is SO bad that it spills into their healthcare system enough that it ranks 39th in the world, whilst the most prosperous economy in the world, the U.S. of A., has the 37th place. Compare healtcare quality to GDP per capita, the U.S. is in fourth place, Cuba has the eleventyfirst! And the quality of their medical care is only two ranks apart! You don't think that means that the system is better? If it manages to stay close to the healty economies despite its tremendous lacks of funds?

That is all. You may now resume your "state's rights" constitutional conversation:)
Dont get me wrong, I have a pretty low opinion of Michael Moore [...] Socialism may be a bad idea Why, and more importantly, why? I can imagine that the smear campaign he got when he attacked Saint Bush was what convinced you that the fat obnoxious guy telling you the emperor had no clothes was someone to dislike. And I imagine that you have spent your entire life submerged in a sea of anti-socialist propaganda, but can you give me a rational idea of why would you assume that pooling resources for the greater good is inherently a bad idea?
If you mean Canada has the same or better results for everybody, no, it does not. Indeed, for many people, it has significantly worse results, especially those in the upper and upper middle class, and that's the point: no one is willing to have their freedom taken away, and their taxes increased, in order to be significantly worse off, even if it benefits others. There's better solutions out there that don't harm a lot of people for the sake of improving the care of a lot of other people. What do you mean by "significantly worse results", exactly? What do you mean by "harm"?
You're implying that rich Canadians are being harmed by their healthcare system. I'm not rich, so I can't tell, but every time I've fallen and couldn't get up, I got quality care following a few hours of waiting patiently, unless it was an emergency, in which case I got quality care right away.
There seems to be this idea in the states that Canada's healthcare system is, somehow, bad. Who told you that and what made you think they weren't lying through their teeth?
I hope you're not saying that it's wrong to counter propaganda? That's all Moore's 'documentaries' are really Anyone who uses 'quotes' around the word documentary when referring to a non-fiction movie made primarily from documents linked by Moore's narration should be modded down "-1, tool"
And stop using propaganda like it's a bad word. Anyone who's spreading the word in engaged in propaganda, there's more of it on your evening news than in anything Moore ever released.
There is kind of no point distributing to stores if it is being given away for free. And there will be an infinite supply of free CDs? It's not a one-time promotional event then?
What a loon. He *is* known as Prince. For a time, he wasn't, because his label owned the name. However, he is now, and has been for some time, known as prince. Parse his comment thusly:
"Prince, we own you. We took away your fucking name, remember? We'll take away your distribution channels if you piss us off again. We OWN you! You are our bitch, understand?"
I know people are falling all over themselves to attack the recording industry, but I believe everybody quoted in the article are *record stores*, not the recording industry. Carry on. You believe, but you are wrong. FTFA: The singer had signed a global deal for the promotion and distribution of Planet Earth in partnership with Columbia Records, a division of music company Sony BMG. A spokesman for the group said last night that the UK arm of Sony BMG had withdrawn from Prince's global deal and would not distribute the album to UK stores.
Sure, stalking and death threats ARE bad, but last time I checked there were already laws in place to deal with those. [...] Everyone needs thicker skin, as the whole uproar about this is more a symptom of our continued pussification You have no insight, you only offer ignorance and dismissal. People who go to the police to get the law enforced are often met with "just tough it out". Cops can't be bothered, unless there's a "real" crime that's been committed, they'll wait until the stalker actually causes physical harm before they act. And then it's too late.
Why don't you apply your "thicker skin" logic to all crimes? Someone stabbed you? You should have fought back harder, pussy! Gang beats you up? You should have more friends, with bigger muscles, pussy!
That's where metamod comes in...If your posts are reasonable and yet get "trolled" or "flamebaited" then metamodders will generally catch it Sure, after the fact. The publicity boost will have been accomplished by then.
somewhere like here where the community would be likely to "out" the schill, and that would do nothing but damage the reputation of the company. Not if they have a coordinated group of schills with mod points. A few to astroturf, a few others to mod them up, and mod down their detractors. It would work perfectly with as little as 4 users.
Why can't "we" export the software to [insert country here], and the reseller there can do whatever they want with it, including sending it to Cuba? Because of Clinton. He passed a law in his first term, made that illegal.
Just the foreseeable future. Regimes change (thank god) "President Bush said to all of us: 'I'm driven with a mission from God. God would tell me, "George, go and fight those terrorists in Afghanistan." And I did, and then God would tell me, "George, go and end the tyranny in Iraq..." And I did. And now, again, I feel God's words coming to me, "Go get the Palestinians their state and get the Israelis their security, and get peace in the Middle East." And by God I'm gonna do it.'"
Please keep your imaginary friends out of your foreign policies.
One of the biggest issues with blogging is that there is no separation between the person who is writing, and the person who is trying to make money. Most other media outlets have separate departments for those things to create a division between content and advertising. In a job search, I found an offer for a professional website participant. They were looking for people with established identities in popular forum websites to use that identity to post on behalf on their clients, making it seem like a spontaneous post from an unaffiliated third party.
Ah, yes, I've heard this particular conspiracy theory before. Historical facts? Yeah, good to know you've been paying some kind of attention to what's going on, albeit, not enough, from your snark.
Ahhh, but Canada is a major exporter of oil (the world's 8th largest). And it is well known on/. that the US routinely invades countries to take their oil... so if I were Canada I would be pretty worried. Cheney has already stated that these oil reserves are his. I can't find the specific quote, but he was talking about the US reliance on foreign oil production and mention the oild sands of Alberta as "our oil".
There is no need for Canada to be invaded, their higher echelons have already been bought.
Weaker countries ride on the coat-tails of the stronger ones. Best example I can think of is Canada - for decades we've been able to neglect all our national defence responsibilities because we live next door to a guy with some really big guns. "Able to neglect"? You mean ordered to cut funding and destroy all plans and prototypes, right? Right? In August 1957, Diefenbaker signed the NORAD (North American Air Defence) agreement with the United States, which required the subordination of the RCAF Air Defence Command to American command and control. The USAF was in the process of completely automating their air defence system with the SAGE project, and insisted that the RCAF had to use it as well. One aspect of the SAGE system was the BOMARC nuclear-tipped anti-aircraft missile, which when intercepting bombers over Ontario and Quebec would be exploding over major Canadian cities.
And lets not forget Gerald Bull, who's funding was cut due to pressure from the US. His plan was to give Canada autonomy in satellite lauches, but the Canadian officials, being the easily bought and paid for lackeys of their southern overlords that they are, decided that reliance on NASA was a far superior approach.
Watch news at 30th, see those classy wannabe idiots who line up for a device [...] Does it get me fired from Cult? Thanks! I don't think anyone should be lining up to buy an iPhone, or a PS3, or anyting. Consumer whores, the lot of 'em.
And I haven't given nearly as much thought to the iPhone as you have, I don't buy first generation hardware, I'll let the whores bend over and take the undiscovered glitches, wait for a revision on the design, and consider buying it then. For now all we have to go on is rumors, hype and FUD, none of which interests me much.
And on an unrelated note, what's your first language? Just curious, you don't seem to feel the need for articles in your sentences... German? Something Nordic perhaps?
All good books should be stored in big crates strewn around the building. To get to a book, a patron should first find the sledgehammer (hidden in a stall in the men's bathroom), and then crush boxes at random until the right book is found.
The dyke says the grunts mostly use MySpace instead Facebook.
If you were expecting me to respond to your comments after using that word, you were mistaken. I can plainly see that you did not reply at all, hence I'm not replying to your non-reply.
But you should not go to not read this other non-post. It does not explain the non-notion I wasn't not using.
And finally, you really shouldn't reat what the author didn't have to not say about herself on her non-site. Although i had hooked up with girls in high school and been introduced to dyke culture through the Internet, i started really exploring what it meant to be queer in college.
So, your anti-snob tactic is to be a superior snob? How's that working for you? I also bark at dogs and baytalk at babies. It's going great! Thanks for asking:)

That's why it has to at the federal level.
