The probability of it interfering increasing significantly if you are a member of a raiding guild.
It's going to depend on your guild and your (other) friends. I don't think raiding one night a week is particularly bad. Other people, however, have a negative attitude toward a video game as an obligation. For comparison, would you think anything negative if I said: no I can't go party Wednesday, I have a basketball game and an obligation to my team. Say the same thing about WoW and many people would think there's something wrong with you, but there's really not that much of a difference.
Humvees drive the A/C from the alternator? Most cars do this with a dedicated belt with no conversion of mechanical energy to electricity as it's more efficient.
Which means if you take that away, housing values instantly drop by about 15%
Exactly. This deduction actually makes it harder for people who pay less taxes to afford a house, since they derive less of a benefit from the deduction.
So why not phase the deduction out over 20 years? The population of the US is still increasing, so we can presume house prices would climb anyways.
the ability to quit out of the game without turning off your xbox 360
This is actually a good thing. I'm sick and tired of multiplayer matches that might have been ok except that half of one team (and I don't care whether its mine or not) drops after the first round because they got their feelings hurt. If you really have to go you still have the option to pull the plug, but I don't see why we should make it any easier.
The Court didn't address the environmental impact for good reason. In particular, no law governs this aspect of the Navy's environmental impact. So basically you're criticizing the respect of the rule of law.
The article failed wrt details. There was no specific law. The environmentalists claimed the Navy failed to "prepare an environmental impact statement," supposedly violating the National Environmental Policy Act. It seems the court was saying you can't apply an law broadly directed at civilian activity to the naval exercises. The current Court prefers to make limited decisions. If there were a law specifically regulating the Navy's use of sonar I think they would uphold it, but, absent any law, this case is similar to arguing that the Army can't practice shooting because the bullets are full of lead.
The American dream is hard work leading to a better life. Depression or no, it's a real thing for millions of immigrants to this country and also many natives. Why you feel the need to trash that is beyond me.
expense of a person that would exist irrespective of the candidate's election campaign
So you're arguing that Palin would've needed all those clothes even if she weren't running. And if you even read the headlines you would know that the RNC bought her wardrobe, not the campaign, and that, like issue ads, those funds are not subject to the same campaign finance laws.
+1 ironic. What you're saying is exactly what the TV media was reporting but far from the truth.
Behind all the crap it was Obama's "plans" that were nothing more than airy rhetoric. When the rubber hits the road his plans are just to spend more money we don't have on vain attempts to fix problems that government has no business fixing.
You seem to imply that the U.S. media spun the war favorably. Other than reporting what the president and Rumsfeld and Colin Powell were saying to congress and the American people I remember them be quite cautious about the prospect of war. The American people (who cared) were on the streets protesting the war while the elected officials were starting it.
Conservapedia appears to be primarily edited by ten year old home schoolers. There is no comparable liberal site because the liberal parents of liberal ten year olds are still waiting for the government to teach their kids to write.
Socialism refers to a broad set of economic theories of social organization advocating state or collective ownership - stolen from Wikipedia
Obama supported the nationalization of several banks and now supports a bailout of the car industry. Universal health care is bound to include some state ownership as well.
When avian flu appeared we knew we were looking for a flu. The symptoms appeared quickly and were well known. SARS was basically the same. Quarantine was possible because of the nature of the disease. This was not possible for AIDS, and HIV was not a known virus when AIDS was finally isolated as one particular disease. The fact that it appeared first in gay men was actually a boon to research because it was a clue to the infection vector.
Which other disease discovered since the 2nd half of the 20th century were doctors so much quicker to isolate and attempt to cure that you can call the response to AIDS slow?
You have to realize there are still folks around here who grew up in school systems with one room for the entire primary school which were essentially a holding tank to keep them off the streets
Other than the one room thing that describes most public schools in the US.
how do we actually make things right for people who got shafted so badly by our public education system?
By giving the black ones preference over the white ones? Not racist at all.
Obama would truly be an example of progress on racism if white people had voted for him in greater numbers than blacks. As it is, he's proved nothing other than that racism is alive and well in the form of affirmative action.
Min maxing these sorts of games is basically par for the course. The line between playing the game and exploiting a bug is pretty fine indeed.

You posit we should damage people instead of animals? PETA will accept your money now.

"Drill here, drill now" won't be necessary. After Obama is elected our cars will run on hope-fueled change engine.

Nobody in the U.S. likes the neocons either.

Illegal? Please. Not even the most virulent detractors who actually know what they're talking about have suggested that.

Where were all the stories about Obama's inexperience? After all he was leading the ticket and she was merely in the back seat.

I propose we dedicate 100% of GDP to extending the lives of the old and the sick. Now my conscience is clear.

So is the government supposed to produce a list of medications that pharmacies must stock now?
GP's definition of slavery is a bit off, but you're definition of freedom leaves even more to be desired.
