Boy, you really don't get it.

Many local communities are demanding that US military bases be reduced or removed (Japan, Germany & Saudi Arabia come to mind). US aid money has much more to do with American interests and American lobbyists, outside of Israel and Oil producing nations US foreign aid is limited and capricious. America can't buy good will anymore and it has lost the respect that was gained, after WWII, during the cold war.

It's obvious you should get out more and understand how the world views America: Only interested in Money & Oil and dangerous.

The company I work for mandates the desktop (company logo) and screen saver (power point like pro-company propaganda) and the MSIE home page (company Intranet start page). Do to "security" few users have write access to the local hard drive and so makes really fiddling with it difficult. Really they claim they do things for "security" and still people must use MSIE! Fortunately for me one of my compilers pre-dates ubiquitous networking and will only work when it's directory is in the root of the "C" drive and well the screen saver and desktop had to go.

    .

SCO has rejected the GPL, the part of this clause I highlighted leads me to believe that since they do not accept the license they are prohibited from distributing code protected by it. So I think that legally many more people could prevent them from distributing code protected by GPL.

How ever I agree with your comments in entirety and I hope that the GPL will come out stronger at the end.

And I still think that once it's all over a "SCO Linux" distribution aimed at migrating current SCO users to Linux is a good (as in the right thing to do and as in profitable) idea.

I know GPL is "not a blanket instrument" but SCO has made blanket claims. They did not say "IBM's Linux activities are not covered by the GPL" nor did they say "GPL does not apply to Linux" They said that the GPL was both invalid and unconstitutional. So basically they have no license to ship anything covered by the GPL license.

I work for a big pharma company, and we reviewed the GPL & BSD licenses, along with many of the points the parent brings up and concluded that software of both licenses is useful to us, the license is compatible with our business model, and it's very easy to not only stay in compliance with GPL & BSD but in most cases cheaper. Of course this is only for Embedded or Machine control projects we still us windows on the desktop.

Anyway I had labeled the parent at best a Microsoft fan or at worst a troll and wasn't going to put the effort you did in refuting him. Bottom line both the GPL and BSD licenses have their use's and places and you can make money using both (and still comply with them), actually I think only the truly stupid or arrogant run afoul of either license.

Seriously though your site is interesting but I have one suggestion: you should put a scale of reference in the photos. How big is that RAP thing (I'm guessing the connector is a little wider than a VGA conneector) or the "payload_sampler_smaller" thing. I take pictures of things I design & build at work too and I put a metal ruler in the frame and make sure the divisions are in focus. But maybe I'm special because sometimes we work on tiny things and sometimes they're pretty big...
