It has never been promised (I think), just requested a million times. I don't think there has ever been a comment on the subject one way or the other from the Slashdot janitors.
Of course because it has been requested so often, according to the Slashdot flowchart (Can't find the link), the feature won't scale...
Bayesian techniques don't work at server level. Bayesian filtering is personal. Just because an email contains (for example) the words "horny slut" doesn't mean it's spam.
Why?
Let's say there are two people: person A and person B. Both have example.com -addresses. A uses his accont only for personal stuff, emailing friends and relatives etc. B uses his account for the same stuff, but additionally subscribes to mailing lists where people send erotic stories.
Now, A starts getting spam "Free herbal viagra", "horny sluts", "get a diploma", and reports these to example.com as being spam. Their bayesian filter learns that words like "horny" and "slut" are very 'spammy', so B's emails from the mailing lists start getting deleted as spam.
If you were B, and your non-spam emails that might look spammy to some, start to disappear, wouldn't you be pissed?
Bayesian filtering is (apparently) very effective in catching spam, but it only works on personal level.
Menus: View->style->user mode then View->style->nostalgia
buttons: click on the small button that looks like a blank page. It should turn into a button that looks like a person. Click on the downward arrow on the button and select nostalgia.
First off, what's with these localy defined style sheets in Opera 7? I can understand ALLOWING users to override a site's style sheet with their own settings for accesibility, but activating that functionality by default?!?
What the hell are you talking about? By default, Opera uses "author mode", which can be switced to "user mode" by clicking a button on the toolbar. In preferences, under "page style", you can choose to disable author mode from being the default mode.
watching this movie without reading the books will RUIN the experience.
No, it seems reading the books will ruin the movie experience. The most vocal whiners have been people who have read the books. I was going to read the books after seeing the first movie, but then I read all the whining and nit-picking from people that had read the books and thought I don't want to become like that.
I'm not sorry. Karma means nothing. It's just there to make Slashdot seem like a game.
Your right, it's not funny.
You're damn right it's not funny. My right is a very serious matter.

Nooooooo, I would never do such a thing.
If someone says something to the effect of "Think what this will do for porn", I will kick his nuts. Think what THAT will do for porn.
Ah, how I love the comedians who reply with the exact joke they were told not to reply with.

U R TEH FUNNY! LOLOLOLOOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOL!
You don't need bayesian filtering to detect dupes. Some hash of the message is enough.

The UI-bloat can be cut down. Look at this picture, and compare it with this.

I would like to apply for a visa to Soviet Russia.
Well, according to your parent post, yes.
How about the mouse?
PS2 has two USB ports.
I personally would rather buy a game for my PC instead of buying the same game for my PS2, at a 50% higher price.
And how many more console games can you afford to buy with the difference in prices between a gaming computer + operating system and a console?
