I wish my fellow countrymen would stop beating their chest about this.
Yeah, it burns you up inside when there's a legitimate story about American heroes, doesn't it? The press does a great job of burying stories on a daily basis, but when something big like this happens, all they can do is wait it out and try to find an angle to shit all over them. Rest assured, the media is aggressively investigating the backgrounds of the heroes right now and will soon be reporting every traffic ticket and high school fistfight they ever had.
Wow, yet another Canadian who heartily enjoys looking down on Americans. You know, if I didn't know so many Canadians in real life, I'd think most of them were douchebags like you. You prejudiced types are very vocal and visible online, and it gives your country a bad name.
Hint: in the future, avoid the "citified" insult, it sounds a hell of a lot like you're racist against inner city African-Americans.
You CANNOT upgrade Wordpress every time there's a change. Doing so breaks your plugins, and these are not often updated. A Wordpress site with no plugins is a weak piece of garbage.
It took me a long time to realize that Wordpress isn't actually a software package like other software packages. It's meant to be a framework upon which you do your own coding. If you just care about a website and screw the coding, like most WP users, then you're shit-out-of-luck.
I see you have never visited a trailer park, nor the inner city.
"You must all know half a dozen people at least who are no use in this world, who are more trouble than they are worth. Just put them there and say Sir, or Madam, now will you be kind enough to justify your existence? If you can't justify your existence, if you're not pulling your weight, and since you won't, if you're not producing as much as you consume or perhaps a little more, then, clearly, we can not use the organizations of our society for the purpose of keeping you alive, because your life does not benefit us and it can't be of very much use to yourself."
-- George Bernard Shaw, communist
Uh...no. No it's not. See? It's your single-issue obsession that blinds you to what the rest of the world perceives. Everything is about your pet issue, all the time, and it's never off-topic.
BTW the correct term is "misogynist", not anti-feminist. Anyone who disagrees with feminists is a woman-hater. All women are either feminists or masochists.
Who said it was a joke? Gender gets brought up all the time in totally irrelevant situations, because feminists are always thinking about it 24/7 and it frames every situation they ever see. We'll be talking about debugging, or the space program, or anything really, then a social justice warrior parachutes into the conversation and derails it by spewing spittle everywhere. Always they think themselves on-topic, no matter how out-of-left-field their proposition is.
It's not a joke, it's satire, and a damned good one at that.
The purpose of a battery backup isn't to let things run when the power goes out. The purpose of a battery backup is to allow an orderly shutdown when the power goes out, instead of a sudden outage that results in data loss and damaged systems.
You realize that those examples you point out are super-alpha males who keep large numbers of women, and it has nothing to do with how the ordinary folk live? In fact, those societies where practices like that flourish are horrid ones to live in.
It is an illegal action against the individual members of AshleyMadison.com, as well as any freethinking people who choose to engage in fully lawful online activities. The criminal, or criminals, involved in this act have appointed themselves as the moral judge, juror, and executioner, seeing fit to impose a personal notion of virtue on all of society. We will not sit idly by and allow these thieves to force their personal ideology on citizens around the world.
Anyone detect a massive case of projection here? "Freethinking people"? As in, people who think freely and disagree with Ashley Madison's position? Why is it always "freethinkers" are on the despicable side of things? You'd think that actual free thinking would mean that you were free to think whatever you wanted instead of being required to arrive at a pre-arranged conclusion - one that Ashley Madison arrived at. "Forcing their ideology"? WTF is that all about? Sounds to me like they can't handle the fact that the world is a big place and there might be people out there who disagree with them. Shocking, eh?
Sanctimonious: making a show of being morally superior to other people.
Environmentalism long ago turned from actually improving the environment, to being an anti-business tool wielded by extreme leftists. It's not about saving the environment any more, it's all about destroying your enemies with lawfare. A classic example of a movement that achieved its goals and then failed to disband as it would endanger the livelihood of its members.
Nope, wrong, journalists can go where they want. There are restricted areas like military zones or civil unrest areas, but as China does not even pretend to be a free country, that's to be expected. The days of being escorted around the country are long gone, you need to update your thinking about China to 2015 instead of 1985.
Yet another article that assumes Beijing = China. Sigh. It's like there's only one city in China. Imagine if European journalists assumed New York City was all there was to know about the entire USA. And China is even bigger, and has four times the population! I think the problem is due to the fact that most Western journalists live in Beijing, and they are not really interested in reporting about anywhere else other than where they live. This is called closed-mindedness and provincialism if it occurs in rural people, but now it's suddenly acceptable?
If you want the real story, watch Chai Jing's documentary "Under the Dome" which tells you about all of China, not just the capital city. It was banned by the government so you know it's good. China has laws, but they're not enforced and the government regulators are either corrupt or falling down on the job. If they actually do crack down and take heavily polluting trucks off the road, they'll be accused of slaughtering the peasants with excessive regulations. Considering the history of the Communist Party in China, this accusation hurts badly and the CCP is anxious to bury this part of its Marxist past.
Hey, that's what Disney did with stories like Pinocchio, Cinderella and the Hunchback of Notre Dame, and it worked out pretty well for them. I say more power to the guy.
I really don't get how two people moderated my comment "Troll". It is not a deliberate attempt at creating strife, it's what I thought when I read the sample. A book with only a thousand words, sounds great for teaching, right? But the sample is sorely lacking.
WTF? Opinions that disagree with your opinions are not trolls, people.
Numbers from far-left news sources indicate that America needs a far-left government? How does that work exactly?
Maybe America doesn't want a far-left party. Ever considered that? No, because the only government you consider valid is one that agrees with your own beliefs.
"Though liberals do a great deal of talking about hearing other points of view, it sometimes shocks them to learn that there are other points of view."
-- William F. Buckley, 1964
See? You just did it again. Sarcastically assuming that democracy is totally on your side, your own far left ideas are the only possible ones, and that anyone who disagrees with you must be a bad person because they're against democracy. How about being pro-democracy and anti-leftist? If your conception of politics is so narrow as to exclude this viewpoint, then you're part of the problem I stated above.
Repair shops are out of business because the cost of labor in USA is sky-high. It simply doesn't make any sense to pay someone $75/hour to repair something when you can get a new one for $150.
Jeez, this is like reading Xinhua News. Just a collective ignoring of the fact that all these people are on the far left of politics, and instead pretending that "the internet community" is some sort of monolithic bloc that supports this. SOPA wasn't a divisive issue, it was something everyone could get behind. But come on, simply presenting statements like "Now we're behind Lessig to fight for citizen equality" with no context? Look at how it assumes the sale and doesn't give anyone the chance to raise objections. If you're not for these hard-leftists, you must be against citizen equality. Man, I feel really despicable being against citizen equality.
Who's talking about the kernel? I'm talking about being an ordinary user. Where did I even say anything about programming, much less on the core of the system? Get your head out of your ass and stop assuming everyone else is like you.
A book written in only a thousand words, I thought, would be cool for people learning English. But it's not. The whole thing is shot through with Millennial cultural references, so much as to make it incomprehensible. Hell, I can barely understand parts of the sample page. People who had different life experiences from the author as well as non-native English speakers will be totally lost. Sad, I had such high hopes.
Left leaning candidates will happily ruin the nation, because the worse things are, the more justifications for radical policies. Who wants to open the borders wide and let the entire world into America, with voting rights the moment they set foot on our soil? The left. Are you saying that Bernie is going to expel the foreigners and thereby create several million new jobs for Americans? Jeez that's some serious Nazi shit right there.
Why don't you ask people who used to live in hard left regimes how they feel about the kind of government you advocate? What do you think they would say?
I wish my fellow countrymen would stop beating their chest about this.

It goes without saying that if Hillary wins I win.
That is so sad. She's worse than Nixon. Worse by a long shot.
Allegations of bias by the Huffington Post? WTF, they wear their bias on their sleeve and are unrepentantly far-left. They only tell the side of the story they want their readers to hear. Even the New York Times admitted they were a liberal newspaper, years ago.
The Huffington Post is a solid far-left news source, it hardly has anything in common with eh far-right Koch brothers.
Who said it was a joke? Gender gets brought up all the time in totally irrelevant situations, because feminists are always thinking about it 24/7 and it frames every situation they ever see. I love how your culture is so superior and open-minded and you can't even bring yourself to say the word "fuck".
It's not to save the feelings of everyone else on this site, either, because we fucking say fuck all the fucking time.
You realize that those examples you point out are super-alpha males who keep large numbers of women, and it has nothing to do with how the ordinary folk live? In fact, those societies where practices like that flourish are horrid ones to live in.
Wow...what a dick move. You're sure he's your friend?
That's a sociopathic action for sure. You need to have a brain scan to confirm it. Do you do this sort of thing often?
Anyone detect a massive case of projection here? "Freethinking people"? As in, people who think freely and disagree with Ashley Madison's position? If you read a lot of Xinhua like I do, this is a common occurrence. They will simply ignore important context and call everyone to action. The obvious questions that everyone sitting at home is asking? Unanswered. In Xinhua's defense, they regularly receive instructions from the Communist Party instructing them to leave important information out of their stories. Western journalists are under no such oppressive restrictions and deliberately do such things of their own free will. Which system is worse?
