What this guy says he has done is to create some sort of field (with this whole setup) that changes the properties of the matter inside it. Is this not a warp field?
Let us not forget the episode of ST:TNG where Q loses his powers and they have to move a moon or some shit and they make a warp field and then change some God awful law of nature allowing the tractor beam to move the moon. We can do that now, right?
This is what I want to know about these technologies - what do they to the inherent error correction in a CD? A lot of them say that they are implemented by putting bad data in redundant tracks. Aren't these redundant areas used to make my scratched up CD's play smoothly? Will all my CD's need to be kept perfect to remain clear now?
You can't appeal a denial for an appeal. You appeal decisions. When the court says, "You lose, Bill Gates you cocksuckermotherfucker!" then you appeal.
They can and probably will appeal the new penalties phase of the trial, whenever a judgement comes about. But this right here? This is done. They co-mingled.
I'm smiling because I co-mingled this morning too.
Does a CD encoded with this copy protection lose it's error correction ability? I know that the majority of my CD's have minor scratches on them. And I know that none of my CD's skip (save Smashing Pumpkins which has a hole in it).
Isn't this the error correction/interpolation saving my ass? If they use whatever redundant data is on a CD to store their stupid copyfucker (or maybe copylover) am I going to get a countless amount of skipping CD's?
Using unleaded petrol or demanding cycle lanes all over isn't going to help
Yeah, you did just say that you don't think leaded gasoline is bad. I'm pretty sure lead and global warming having nothing to do with each other. Lead makes kids retarded. That's why it is banned. That's why the joke "Did you eat paint chips as a kid?" exists. Lead kills people. Lead kills everything. It's bad.
I don't want to breathe. Neither do you. This is me looking out for you. Trust me on this one.
I'm no scientist, but I thought the argument went rising temperatures -> melting ice caps -> rising oceans -> less land (with less arable land being a subset of that).
And if Siberia is becoming just warm enough to sustain agriculture, wouldn't you imagine some other place just cool enough now will become too hot/dry to sustain agriculture? Raise the temperature of the Great Plains by 6-8 degrees and you have a big dust desert.
Life has survived through past cycles, it'll certainly survive through this one. The point is that it isn't a cycle. It's called Global Warming - not global warming then cooling. The earth will just get hotter. Yes bacteria are there to eat the CO2 and they will flourish and whatever eats them will flourish as well, but they can only convert so much. Man will always be able to conquer nature, and if we sit on our hands we'll spit out more CO2 and other shit than the earth can handle.
I have every confidence in the human race to do this.
Napster has now signed deals with Bartleson (BMG), Sony (EMI), and TW/AOL. Who do you think controls the RIAA? While these 150 indies can't hurt with their support, the major moves have already been made.
I would have loved to see an independant Napster that artists could have signed onto to publish their music - an alternative to the major labels with reach the indies never dream of having. I would have payed $5 a month for that. $10 even. The way I see this coming out, though, is the big boys controlling Napster (after Napster is found libel for $400 million in lost revenue or some such) and just using it as another way to drain my pocket into theirs, once again bypassing the artists. No radical new distrobution methods. No alternative to the radio (God I hate the radio) to find new bands. No free mp3's (there at least).

Way to fuck it up, Metallica.

Thanks for generalizing this issue into meaningless garbage.
I needed that.
Say it with me, "mup-thra"

*nt means no text. Someone modded me offtopic for putting some jibberish here on my last post. Fuck that person.

The reasoning is that everybody with a computer needs Windows (which they do for connecting to the government's MS-only websites).
They could always IE it up on the good old Mac.
Posted with the non-latest version of IE. Why? Because installing Mandrake 7.2 again is a being pain in my asshole. More than the goatse.cx guy.
