I don't disagree that the task switcher is a big improvement over the recent apps list, it's way, way better. But it's certainly an evolutionary change.
The app I have problems with is a Chinese dictionary called Hanping. I believe the problem is supposed to be fixed in the next version. I hope so at least, because it's super annoying having to go back to the home screen all the time:-/
They are not fundamentally different at all. They both serve the exact same function. The fact that some apps didn't show up correctly under recently opened apps is not a fundamental difference, it's a bug. There are apps under ICS that don't show up under the task switcher too, so it's not even a bug that's entirely gone..
Maybe, but there's only so many changes you can make to the design of a touch screen with a narrow border. Unlike something more complex, like a car, it's very reasonable that a few dozen design monkeys working independently will come up with almost identical looking tablets. At some point making changes to the design just so they don't look like other tablets already on the market will start to diminish usability.

That doesn't make any sense, which philosophies should be wiped off the face of the earth? All of them? What about the one that says all philosophies should be wiped off the face of the earth?
In all churches I've been to money is given entirely anonymously. No guilting is possible. You give as much as you desire and no one will call you out for not giving enough.
That sounds like a situation human drivers would be terrible at. I'm certain an automated driver would do better at it since they wouldn't fixate on the first bike they see to the detriment of the second one. OTOH, as a bike rider it seems you should not be putting yourself in the situation where this is a concern. It sounds entirely preventable to me.
Obviously none of these papers were sensationalistically important sounding judging from the number of times they were cited. If the papers did attract a lot of attention no doubt they would have been discredited quickly by people trying to reproduce the results.
What's actually ironic is that you are giving the Republican's stance on education the same grade as the Democrat's to protect your own feelings from being hurt by the Republican's failure. How "liberal" of you.
I read the Wikipedia article you linked to and your depiction of it seems awfully far from what the article actually says. The tldr version of it is OBE=standardized testing. Where do you get the idea it is in any way related to kids not knowing where the US is on a map? Teachers could neglect to teach basic geography using traditional education systems just as easily.
These aren't laws like traffic laws that have a punishment if the robot breaks them, they are laws like natural laws where the robot would be designed from the start to be incapable of not violating them. And who wouldn't buy a robot that might destroy itself to save you? It's kind of like cars, they are designed to take damage in order to protect the drivers. A perfectly rigid car would frequently be cheaper to repair, but the same could not be said for the person inside.
That is hateful. But for me, it seems most of the likes that show up are from people who I've already unsubscribed from! I shouldn't be seeing anything on the wall from those people, and yet I get flooded by the stupid junk they like all day.
Well, you included getting rid of the pentile display as a condition for buying another Samsung, so that makes it sound like you consider it a pretty serious problem.
The burn-in can be a real problem though, that is true, but I only had minor burn in on my N1 after 2 years of heavy use. It was barely noticeable where the old white status bar was before Gingerbread made it black. I never left it on for long periods as often as you did though. I use Navigation all the time while driving, but haven't seen any burn in from that.
Yeah, I'd say it's an overstatement. My previous phone was also a Nexus One. By no definition was the display atrocious looking. I don't have it convenient right now, but even when I had it side by side with my Galaxy Nexus no major problems with the display stood out. But I was just using my phone, I wasn't looking for flaws. I think the people who insist pentile is bad are looking for flaws, so naturally they see them.
And it is not even possible all the time, some people don't work individually and some people are not doing work that is exactly the same as other work and therefore easy to estimate how long it should take.
Just because you don't have any good metrics for measuring workers performance, why does that give you the right to make up arbitrary standards unrelated to the job?
If the tests were actual tests to measure intoxication then it would be reasonable, because you're right that you should be able to expect your employees to not be intoxicated on the job. However the tests don't measure that, they test if the user has been exposed to the drugs at any time recently. This doesn't mean they were intoxicated on the job, and for new hires probably doesn't even mean they were intoxicated while working for you.
Honestly, I'm curious why do you care about pentile display? My Galaxy Nexus looks absolutely fine for all uses. Maybe you can see a difference under a microscope but that's just going out of you way to find something to be unhappy about.
So... speculation is gambling then. Thanks for the clarification.

Care to link to an example? I did some searching and didn't find anything.

Re-read what he wrote. He didn't say any infrastructure improvements were necessary for automated vehicles.

Yeah, you keep saying that. But what is imperfect about a coin with an edge that can be landed on?
Can't say I've noticed it. And I was using GPS navigation shortly after the leap second, so I think it would have been pretty obvious to me.
You're mistaken. Canadians are North American's, but they are as of yet not a state in the US.

There are heavens and hells in Buddhist mythology, though I'm not sure how many Buddhists believe they exist as more then metaphor.

Quit trolling.
Actually it does.
Quit whinging. It was a joke, an apropos one at that. And he didn't interrupt anyone's conversation, he started a new thread.
