    Black holes are not nearly enough to account for the missing mass from dark matter. Remember dark matter isn't a missing small percentage of what we can see, it makes up 4 times more matter then what can be observed.

    Obviously Android IS Linux, but it's not a full blow Linux distro, and that is what you were talking about. Even standard, non-rooted Android doesn't dictate what you can or can not run on it though. Your complaints all seem to be iPhone complaints, maybe you should give Android a try before deciding you wouldn't want it on a tablet.

    Actually, if I spent the money for a tablet what I would want to do with it is run applications that were designed to work properly with a tablet. So no, a full blown Linux distro wouldn't let me do that. OTOH, a regular rooted Android install would fit the bill nicely.

    It's obvious that the OP was talking about compression on the moon from tidal forces, not just tidal force. Since the moon is in tidal lock with the earth this is basically zero for earth. And since tidal forces actually follow an inverse-cube law, not inverse-square, the tidal compression from the sun is not really worth mention either.

    Ok, I guess I did assume he views taxes as a moral issue, but that's really the only sensible interpretation.

    If he doesn't then I'm not sure where his comment comes from as I certainly have never heard a liberal say that taxes are immorally low but I regularly hear conservatives compare their taxes to legalized robbery. All the liberals I know actually prefer low taxes, but only as low as can be afforded.

    Sorry, but that's a pretty foolish thing to say. How can high taxes be immoral? If high taxes were immoral, who gets to decide what counts as a high tax? Republicans? (LOL!) The current taxes rates are quite low by historic standards so they must not be immoral, right?

    You'll probably need either a browser that supports proxies, the default one does not, or you could set up a VPN on your phone.

    Android already has a basic cloud based dev tool. I'm sure it's fairly limited right now, but that could change.

    My line of thinking on the snooze button is: If your alarm goes off, and you have no time to hit the snooze button without it mattering, stop setting the alarm late.

    Some people want to have time to relax in the morning: read the news, check email, whatever. But if you're too tired on a given day those things can be sacrificed for a few more minutes in bed. OTOH, if you set your alarm so you never have time to spare in the morning then you are running around every morning urgently getting ready to run out the door. Hardly a pleasant way to live.

    That's not true. Wikileaks protects their sources as much as any journalist does, and for the exact same reason. If you don't protect your sources, you won't have any sources to protect.
