He keeps on saying how he will look at every government program and will work to end the ineffective ones. If he holds to that he can't possibly continue the war on drugs. But I'm not too optimistic, there's still way to many people who can't differentiate opposition to the war on drugs from support for drugs.
Why not? The cynics don't have anything worthwhile to add. They don't believe they can change anything and they're right, they can't. Believing you can accomplish something is the first step towards doing it.
Well last I checked treachery is illegal. For someone to call it treachery when he did nothing illegal I would say is astoundingly ignorant, and that's only what I'd say if I'm in a remarkably generous mood.
The appeal is that it a quick way to communicate quickly without all the obligatory social filler that normally comes with a phone call. Also it is more courteous than a phone call because a text message is not as disruptive. The receiver can read and respond to the message at their convenience.
Why single out public schooling? Private schools also surround teens with other teens. So does summer camp. Home schooling is not the answer since it requires a time commitment that is not possible with every family. Also you disregard the fact that surrounding your children with other children is a very good thing, despite the possible negative consequences of socializing.
President Obama, like most sane politicians, also believes that an amendment regarding gay marriage would be inappropriate in the Constitution.
Also the fact that a state is having trouble coming to a consensus on a state issue does not make it a national issue. Other states have not had problems and California will resolve the issue in time as well. And I'm quite certain California will eventually resolve the issue in favor of gay marriage. The gay marriage ban support is dropping quickly and the Prop 8 supporters lucked out this time because the opposition was poorly organized.
As if I know where my monitors manual is. It could be in the heaps of paper near my computer, but more likely it's enjoying its new life somewhere as a newspaper or a FedEx box.
Why not change the permissions? The copy operation did change the file owner, would it really be such a problem if the owner was given write permission to files copied from media that don't support the write operation?
Aside from that what the Desktop should do in the situation is say the file is write-protected, do you want to delete anyway? Even the rm command does that in a modern Linux distro. Or it could just delete it without confirmation assuming that the user knows what they are doing. Maybe that's not always a good assumption, but that's what KDE4 does anyway.
And per capita spending by the Federal government actually leveled out during the 90's, so it wasn't just talk.
The implication is that they timed the announcement to occur when no one is paying attention.
Just sitting around saying "meet the new boss" is not dissent. Dissent is vital to our country, cynicism is just tiresome.
Thanks for your insight.
Amen to that.
Not really, in monarchies the King pretty much did what he wanted. But I suppose if you consider the whims of the ruler "the law", then you are right.
...and Mexico continues it's downward spiral.

No. It sounds more like if you're not interested in achieving anything get out of the way of those who are.

Setting aside the obvious fact that the investigation was a multi-million dollar partisan witch-hunt, Clinton was in the end found to be not guilty.
Ok, so beat him with the lying America into war stick, or the disregarding his sole sworn duty to protect the Constitution stick.
If the article is wrong perhaps you could be kind enough to point out the logical or factual errors?
Of course everyone claims something, but not all claims are equal. Some are backed up by facts while others are pure fabrications.
So Bill Clinton was a traitor, but not the guys who outed a CIA agent? I hate to point it out but your bias is showing. How embarrassing.
Are you a clever troll or just an idiot?

So I assume you have no music anywhere in your home if you say it has no value to you.
That would be funny until Universal Music forces them to take it down since they own A&M, Herb Albert's label.
Considering their overpopulation problem do they really want to discourage wanking? This seems very counter-productive to me.

To each his own, but in my experience the binary drivers are objectively less shitty at performing their primary task of generating video.

Mandriva works that way, at least for graphics drivers.
