Agreed. Using a feature does not imply liking the feature, especially when there is no alternative available. I could lock someone in a room and feed them bread coated with horse dung every day. After a while they would eat it, but that doesn't mean they would like it.

It's one thing to be paid to show up in court, make appeals, etc. It's another thing to go on your own time, angry, and putting up with their constant bullshit.

I think a few thousand dollars invested in securing my data would be far, far better than trusting a 3rd party who can turn around and say "oh so sorry, TOS violation/we're shutting down this division/we gave your data to the FBI cos it was on the same server as.../etc". It's not a true savings especially if you can lose ownership or access to the very thing you were trying to protect. The whole trend flies into the face of what the computer industry has been trying to give us all these years, a small, powerful machine that can do your data processing/storage at home. The cloud is the road of dependence, centralization and "pay for service/MB/CPU cycle", a business model that died in the mid 80's and should never have been resurrected.

Casualties cause more problems than fatalities. If they're dead you can leave them there for days. If your friend is screaming for help, you'll risk your life to save him and get him out of the line of fire. Then you'll need a good 2-3 guys to carry him to the equivalent of a field hospital. Said hospital needs to be staffed and protected. Etc. Logistically speaking dead soldiers are a lot easier to deal with than injured ones, so long as they're not dying faster than you can train them up.

As for the "armored car", I'm sure the bullet will have enough punch to kill you. Flesh and even bone are much, much "softer" than steel. If that thing has a 20mm or 30mm anti-aircraft gun pointed at it, everyone inside is dead.
