Yeah, funny how all those useless studies over the last hundred years have nothing to do with the fact that I am able to read your drivel from the other side of the planet within seconds of you hitting the "submit" button - something that was unthinkable at the start of last century.
While the popular press likes to present science as a limited series of earth-shattering breakthroughs, in reality science is built upon thousands and thousands of tiny incremental steps, not all of them in the same direction.
No one has an excuse for not knowing the local laws. Being foreign won't get you off, ever. But consider yourself lucky - in ancient Rome it was actually against the law for the plebs to know the laws, although of course they could be judged and executed by them.
Moral of the story - the stall warning is always right. Dunno how it works on jets, but at least on small prop aircraft it is a separate physical device consisting of a bunch of tabs on the leading edge of the wing that are pushed back by wind resistance and has nothing to do with Pitot tubes.
It climbs at 800 ft per minute (according to the vid) which means 6 minutes to 5000 feet. It carries 45 minutes' worth of fuel (also from the vid). Not sure if you will get an 800 ft/min climb with a full tank though. Also I'm not sure you'd be able to get permission to go to 5000 feet without a private pilot's license.
Go back to physics 101 - you call yourself a nerd? What is 9.8g + - 9.8g please? 0g. And THAT is why it's called ZERO GEE. Wow, amazing. The absence of gravity while still in the presence of a gravitational field.
Not from a 35 degree angle of attack. Planes have the aerodynamics of a large brick in that configuration, and moving the control surfaces has no effect.
Education isn't the only predictor for economic success.
No it's not. However my grandfather, who never made it past 2nd grade in school, spent his whole life telling me how important education was - despite the millions of dollars he made. It's likely I will never make as much money as he did - in fact he was already retired by the time he was my age despite having been born poor. Thanks to him 4 generations of my family have been able to live and eat very well and never have to worry about anything financial. However education is not just about "income" and earning potential. You can immediately spot when someone has no education because the lack a basic understanding of so many concepts. The keys to success cannot be taught - where can you learn things like "luck" and "perseverence"? No school teaches that. It's something you are born with. However when education can get you is a rational way of thinking and problem solving and an in-depth knowledge of a subject that many people lack.
Er actually computers have been using real random numbers for some time now. Yeah ok using the rand() function in Visual C++ will still get you the garbage pseudo-random number generator, but I invite you to look at all the cryptography functions that use hardware on the chip specifically designed to return real random numbers by sampling thermal noise from hardware. This feature has been "built in" on Intel chips since the Pentium III. While some of your games might still use the old pseudo random number generators, there really is no excuse anymore. EVERYONE has a true random number generator on their PC or laptop.
No, casinos make money because they hedge the odds. You may think that choosing red or black is a 50-50 call, and you completely forget the two green "0" and (depending on the wheel) "00" slots on a roulette wheel. The odds are slightly less than 50-50. You may think that if there are 36 numbers on a roulette wheel but really there are 37 ("0" again), and oddly enough the casino pays 35 to 1, not 37 to 1. The house ALWAYS wins, even if you gamble smartly.
What's the point of having your casino full of people if you are broke? People will go to casinos regardless. Gambling addiction is a recognized pathological condition, according to the DSM-IV.
Superconductors, flux pinning, etc.

you'll see that the intention is to provide information to the viewer, not to the service provider.
Money earned by providing info to the viewer: $0.
Money earned by providing info to advertisers and media companies: $millions if not billions.
Yeah yeah, the information is for the "viewer". Just be sure to read the fine print.
Change 2.8 to "three". 2.8 doesn't rhyme anyway, three would scan better, and there you go. FTFY.
citizen =/= pleb
So?

GP just has to stop including the word "walrus" in his searches.

Well see the people used the same password at work as they used for PSN...
Especially in a jet. Jets cannot be flown "by the seat of your pants".
Don't worry, it's only DC-10's that fall out of the sky in clusters.

That would be the flight from Lima, Peru, where someone forgot to remove masking tape from the Pitot tubes... AeroPeru 603 I think it was.
I agree the whole thing sounds weird. Nose down in a stall is pretty much the first thing any pilot learns. Poor bastards.
innovation? Rofl, the only thing innovative at Apple are the prices, and the stupidity of the people who buy their products.
No, to make a fair comparison we'd have to go back to Apple II days. But then again Apple fanboys always keep forgetting the details.

Has he gotten $2 million worth of publicity from this stunt yet?
1) Skype is working fine for a lot of people except, apparently, the author.
2) Skype's web page loads fine
3) The author seems to have missed previous Skype outages
4) How the fuck does this FUD make the front page of slashdot? The article is pure libel.
