    If the person they are sueing has access and may have used the PC for copyright infringement should the PC not be investigated?

          I think you are infringing on the RIAA's copyright. Expect them to take your PC soon.

          Get it? It takes more than someone's "say so" to go into someone's private property and rummage through their things. The RIAA has to actually show some sort of proof that you've wronged them, not just "oh, we say you did it". Unfortunately (for them) they don't have enough proof to convince the judge. So why should they get the hard drive? First things first - establish that copyright infringement happened by some other means.

    Meanwhile, Slashdot continues on its slide to oblivion.

          Actually looking at those graphs slashdot is pretty constant, and not sliding anywhere. Digg is experiencing growth, but slashdot is not decreasing.

          Personally I hope most of the idiots leave us for Digg, and then this site might just go back to what it was before. Oh and they can take Roland Piquepaille with them!

    at least according to the slant of the article, science has already disproved the existence of god.

          Maybe not, but it has certainly disproved the effectiveness of prayer on the recovery of coronary bypass graft patients... (published in The Lancet a few years ago, I'm too lazy to look it up).

          Perhaps they just weren't praying hard enough, or in the right direction, or with the right "magic" words, etc....

    While perhaps I can understand the drive to change the wording to soothe the layman; perhaps it would be better to leave the wording as it is, and educate the vulgar. Although I realize that this is an insurmountable task, a fool with an education is just an educated fool.

          So fuck 'em, and let's get on with our useful work. Don't expect them to thank us, either. According to them, the human lifespan is getting SHORTER...

    The handy thing about natural selection is that eventually, everything will turn out alright. Just probably not in your lifetime.

          And the cute thing about evolution is that we are all directly descended from that first cell, in (by definition) an unbroken line of succession. Not only are you my "brother", but so is the tree in front of your house, or your pet goldfish.

          Everytime you kill something you are breaking a line of inheritance that is billions of years old. Food for thought. Perhaps we shouldn't break them in vain.

          Frankly after seeing my ex wife turn into a born again nut (and putting up for her drivel for almost 10 years), I'm willing to wager that most "Christians" would be all for stonings and public executions, only they don't have the guts to say it out loud.

    They've been selling Ribena for decades under the advertising that it was high in vitamin C. Hell, my grandma used to tell us to drink it.

          Now the other side of the coin is that Vitamin C is one of the most overhyped vitamins ever. Small amounts are neccessary for the production of healthy tissue, and that's about it. There is no medical evidence that it helps prevent or cure colds, etc. And a balanced diet provides more than enough Vitamin C.

    The APIs are documented on MSDN. http://msdn2.microsoft.com/ is free. Have you heard of a little something called the internet?

          Sure. You can get free versions of the SDK. Usually a few months AFTER the OS/Program or whatever is released. If you pay, however, you get in early. My point stands.
