Well my experiance is developing on windows and linux. Testing on linux. Deploying on various different Sun boxes some sparc 8 and 9's and some T1000 and T2000. More recently the code was deployed on a series of intel based blades (installed by IBM) in a new data centre. So yes just being able to do that makes java work well.
CSS can not make a web site into a mobile website that is useable. Mostly because companies want different content on thier mobile site. The content of the main site can be to large for the device to handle. The CSS to handle mobile can be to large for the device to handle. Even if the device can load it you can end up with pages that scroll forever due to the small screen size. Tables don't work well. Images need to be converted.
Its often just easier to have a simplified site targeted at mobiles that uses one of the technologies that provide information about the device they are providing content to and functionality to help you.
Mind you I think it is still possible for her to disband the government I love living in this monarchy. Some of the laws are so old. I just had to look up some of them.
There are a lot of places that still have Elizabeth as the queen. I think most have just not got around to getting rid of the colonial ties. Why on earth does Canada still have a governer general?
Our queen is the queen. It does not meen that much anymore. She can block any law but if she did parliment would throw her out. So yes she has power but cannot use it. Such is the state of the UK.
I've worked in companies that use use some bits of some Agile methods (they always did)and it mostly worked very well, but the sure fire way to mess it up is for the company to pre anounce a release date with a full feature list on it. It means those features must be in and tested by that date. So much for prioritisation.
Taking the first item on the list is not always a good idea as some issues require specialised knowledge, not of code as such, but of theory. That should be assigned to a person who knows the domain. Unless you are willing to allow the time for an arbitrary dev to learn it.
And you will have specialists. However others can work on the code when there is some there to work on. But the specialist should own the code. Note the small 'o' on own there it should not be their private domain.
Oh and C compilers are not all the same. Some of the ones for micro controlers are truely shocking. Mind you some of the ones for linux are not much better
Get your code to work on a 4,8 or 16 bit proc with varying memory architectures. I'm stareing at a Tini board from Dallas Semi. Well Maxim now. It runs Java although only version 1
If it is US customs then they probably use clean gloves and not latex either as that may cause rashes on the users who have to probe each day. But Gitomo, finger printing and asking for stupid amounts of pre-flight info is a problem. And fucking stupid grumpy ignorant customs officers. Mind you your are better than others as you could get your hands cut off, your head cut off, stoned to death in other places. I'm really not sure if sarcasm works.
No you would probably find your self arrested, interogated, strip searched and then bent over a table with a pre-used latex covered finger being stuck in you...if they were being nice. Then you may be allowed you buy the next flight home. Or you may by chucked in gaol or Gitmo.
I must not have read it correctlt the first time. The link I gave earlier to the BBC says that the FSA in thier tests half the chicken marked as halal destined for catering was found to contain pork. Here is an earlier report http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/programmes/panorama/3047159.stm
The thing is that until recently it wasn't. It was what ever was blasted off and boiled out of the carcases. Now it is the same stuff but you can no longer use DNA to identify which kind of animal it came from.
Does boiling pork bones down make them halal? You are not talking science here you are talking doctorine. But if they do dont want to eat pork that is fine and I really don't think "pork extracts" should be pushed on them unknowing. Even if it is curshed, boilded down to a pulp, pushed though filters to remove the teath and then put in to thier chicken. I don't want it in my chicken. I don't even want the salt walter that is comonly put into meat in my food.
Thanks, I don't know US law precident in this but "Americans have an expectation of privicy" just made me chuckle wrt customs&immigration. It may be why US customs are some of the worst in the world I have been through (although it may just be low paid grumpy staff). Actually most cutoms are pretty bad but US is getting silly. UK ones are great (but I'm a from the UK). The same holds for mot nationals entering thier home country.
I don't know what wierd world you live in but it has been a very long time since anyone has had any "expectation of privacy" when going through customs. Customs routinely search all your belongings and if you are not careful your orifaces too

As I hate american airports. Heathrow is probably better.
Ho hum try flying from heathrow Not fun.Better than JFK I think.
I thought Canada was nice. If they ake the piss like that I will avoid it.
Had a little slider on the back of the head to make the eyes work? I am far to old.
I have not had the best of experiances flying to JFK. Why the really random questions? And why do they care if I get a cab or town car?
only Civ 4
Can I stop laughing now? You have nicely summed up the briish government.
Mind you I think it is still possible for her to disband the government I love living in this monarchy. Some of the laws are so old. I just had to look up some of them.
I would like to see that. The sergent at arms is normally over 60 and I don't think a sword would help much.
Yes it is her government. She has to recognise it but it is not beholden to her. In theory she has ultimate power but in reallity she can't use it.
There are a lot of places that still have Elizabeth as the queen. I think most have just not got around to getting rid of the colonial ties. Why on earth does Canada still have a governer general?

The experiment has been done with glasses that flip the scene before it enters the eye. After a few hours most adults don't notice much difference.
