Wikipedia already has something like this, for editing purposes. It is only displayed on the discussion pages, though, and used for backend and sorting work. Here is an example of both the "notability" and "importance" scales for the current featured article of the day, Intelligent Design. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:WikiProject_intelligent_design/Assessment#Importance_scale http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:WikiProject_intelligent_design/Assessment#Quality_scale

The point was not specifically in regards that one was more useful than another, but rather that, in response to the OP, in photography, both incandescent and fluorescent are far from desirable. You'll never see these used in any type of professional environment for a number of reasons. I recognize that there are appreciable differences between the two types of light, but the OP was implying that incandescent bulbs were of great use to photography. They are not. Regardless of what you say, incandescent still presents significant white balancing problems for digital cameras, and should be avoided if at all possible. As you say, the advent of RAW shooting makes it much easier to manipulate white balance than it would have been in the days of film, however.

  3. Re:There are times on GE Announces Advancement in Incandescent Technology · · Score: 1

Um, no... incandescent lights are no more desirable in photography than fluorescents are. Daylight balance is usually what is striven for (all flashes and studio strobes are calibrated for daylight balance). In the film days, incandescent lights required the use of tungsten film, or some sort of complimentary light filtering. In digital, incandescent poses other problems in terms of white balance, especially when it is mixed in with other lighting sources (still requiring flash filtration).

Another vote for Guerilla War! It's one of my favourite games of all time. It would be great in this situation because it's intensely fun, but very easy. If your girlfriend is not a great gamer, she will probably still have lots of fun because her character will keep respawning even if she dies.

This is a very good point. I got fed up rather quickly of the horrible sound quality of the iPod's stock earbuds, and splurged for some Shure E3c. I own Grados for home listening, but was looking for something portable that would still provide great sound, as I didn't have the intention of lugging my Grados everywhere with me (especially since they are VERY open). The Shures offer not only sound benefits over standard earbuds but, as you said, their sound isolating properties can dramatically affect the volume at which you have to listen to your music. I have noticed that I never go above 50% on the volume control of my iPod when I am on the bus, yet with the other earbuds I tended to put it much higher because of all the noise in the bus. Hopefully, this will help keep my ears "healthy" for many more years to come.

The Montreal Metro has has cell service for a good while now. They initially started the service as a partnership with Bell Canada in only some of the most heavily frequented stations, but they have slowly been expanding the service and the plan is to have the whole system wired up. I do seem the recall the service working even in trains, but don't quote me on that.

As has been said, Russia has had a number of pretty successful projects. How much can you say about NASA recently? The space shuttle project is falling apart, they're planning repeating Apollo for whatever reason, there were a bunch of failed Mars missions, Hubble's future looks bleak, etc.

My Calculus teacher has had the TI-84 Plus Siver Edition for about two months now, and I've had the chance to play around with it alot. I can tell you that it really is alot faster than my 83 Plus, as I've done speed comparisons as far as graphing is concerneed. They also seem to have refined certain menus with a smaller font, but overall, the OS remains about the same. Not worth the upgrade from the 83, but certainly a plus for people in the market for a new calculator.

Try Firefox, it's much more IE-like than Mozilla. For example, the shift+click works in it, and it generally tries to imitate certain IE behaviors in order to smooth out the transition for new users.
