So - I'll just have to leave the windows down when I'm chatting on the phone, stopped in traffic, trying to find a GPS route around, with my cool air conditioning on. Unless they interlock the AC relay to only engage between 30-45mph, and ambient air is 65F or cooler.
I don't suppose I could instead get the ECM shielded against EMP could I ? Or maybe a engine that runs on hot air from CARB ?

  6. Re:Flashmemory on How Does Flash Media Fail? · · Score: 1

Not aluminum, but TIN is what sprouts "whiskers" that short out parts. 10% lead in solder solves that problem. So nearly all consumer devices are doomed to fail 10 years. TV, phone, car brains, flash sticks. There are some annealing processes that can help reduce the whisker growth, some super strong epoxy can help, but it's sad.

Better PV panels are glass, which is not recommended to be packed into a duffel bag on a military (or commercial) transport. Foldable or roll-up panels are quite a bit more pricey. What are the chances you could ship him one (PV panel) after he gets settled ?? (or is he always going to be on the roll). Solar is not very compact, and the glass is, well, glass. Dust gathers and needs to be cleaned off, with water, to not scratch or haze the glass. Disposable batteries, or a 28V vehicle charger may be a better option.

Ha, as if they will bother, but more topical,
How are they intercepting the same URL from
