Umm what the hell are you talking about? A minidisc stores data in a format that is compressed by default. There is no such thing as "just minutes". I can store much more than five hours on a cd, if you let me lower the bitrate samplingrate and/or bitdepth enough. yeah minidiscs are compressed, I know that, that is why I will never use them, having a lossy compression on your masters is idiotic (I do not even like distributing lossily compressed material).
Seriously, I have come to the conclusion that languages are pretty much subjective when it comes to productivity, error rates, etc.
why don't you go play some brainfuck golf and come back and tell us that again? Some languages are more productive than others, some are faster than others, and some are safer than others. Brainfuck happens to be increadibly slow to develop, runs slow, and has no mechanisms for detecting or dealing with errors whatsoever. And that is why I love it;)
PhysicsGenius, how ever do you do it? You are one of the few folks here who can troll without getting modded down (true trolling, not just flamebate and crapflooding). Congrats.
Regarding medical info databases, they generally can give a list of probable diagnoses and need a little human common sense to help them out. Expert systems generally suck at common sense.
when C# becomes more popular, buffer overruns and dangling pointers will be toast, so security problems will basically disappear. In comparison to Linux L00sers, anyways, where buffer overruns are considered a sign of how cool you are. (I uze l337-j00 See Minuz Minuz, is s0 fazT!!!)
the ironic thing about your comment is that c#'s original name was c-- (you have to type cminusminus to google it properly, I think), which was, in part, a non gpl'd alternative to gcc's intermediate code system (ie. the way the GNU Compiler Collection uses one comiler for all the languages it supports, and they all compile to the same intermediate code). c-- was designed to be a better core language to use as a base language to code ontop of- ie. a non gpl'd version of gcc.
Microsoft changed c--'s name to c# for marketing reasons.
now, if everyone quoted all the parent comments in their comment, this could be undiferentiatable from a meower crapflood on usenet, what with all of those silly bandnames and all.
he has probally seen the source code, so Gnu couldn't claim their code was a clean room implimentation.
Nothing of the sort is neccisary. BSD unix was a non-cleanroom reimplimentation of AT&T unix. BSD won when it went to court. It is easier to be cleanroom though.
Actually, that was the intention of Cage's piece, to show that despite the performer on stage being absolutely still, there was still sound. His intention was that while the performer did not make sound on stage, the audience might notice the sounds that are around us constantly in a way they never before had.
and akso in effect you are not buying the media, but leasing it...
Leasing has nothing to do with it. Copyright is the right to copy, that is the meaning of the word. Beyond fair use, only the owner of the copyright has the legally given right to make make copies.
The zealots are not using IE and complaining bitterly that nothing works.
There are warnings all over gopherspace not to use IE for gopher. IE has always sucked at gopher. No graphic web browser currently does gopher+, at all. And yes, this does mean I use gopher.
Um, no. This will work with any shell worth using, it is a feature of the linux kernal and system design. Try using another shell sometime, you may be amazed what you thought was the system but is your shell and visa versa.
Heh, I just went straight edge a month ago (finally quit niccotine and caffiene). The point is, I fix it, mail it upstream, they try it out, fix it up a little, within a few hours, you can download it from the fsf and all their mirrors. Only one person needs fix it if they do it right. And unchecking that checkbox seems not to work for alot of viruses (ie. spoofed mime types - looks to mailer like mpeg, mailer says to OS hey do what you do with this file, OS sees executable script, kablooie). I really hope I am not being trolled here...
Do not run any program as root that is not either a part of your original distribution or an install script for a program you know has not been tampered with (check the md5 on the tarball), and whose author you trust.
Never run any mail program that runs code that is mailed to you (good luck finding one for *nix that does that anyway).
Follow this program, and you should remain virus free on any reasonably designed operating system.

umm... nvi on my home box, it was elvis by default. Vim looks like someone ate fruitloops and vomited on my screen.

i'veAlwaysCalled'EmStudlyCaps. iHateEm, theyAreUnreadable.
You are thinking in one domain at a time. A sound can devide dark in time, and a silent action can devide silence.
keep that shit in the froups where it belongs. Next thing you know there'll be death threats on alt.bsd.
karma, I hardly knew ye.
actually fiber can reduce tp usage by reducing mess.

actually, "silence" is divisible. The original 4'33" was in multiple movements, represented by the actions of the piano player.

I have to concur, this does not work under debian.
