Firefly was a great series. It had a nice mix of sci-fi, humor, etc. I wish they hadn't killed it off so soon.
On the top of sound in space, what's with those stupid sonic bomb things Boba's father used to try and nuke our buddy in the asteroid field? Sonic weapons? In space? Uh..... wha?
How is the cop supposed to know that? He didn't pull them over. He arrives on the scene and the guy is acting at least somewhat intoxicated. One of the first things out of his mouth is "I'm parked...".
You have to ask yourself what the cop should reasonably assume. IMHO the cop should assume that an intoxicated man may have been driving the truck. Which means asking for a license is reasonable.
If you watch the video he says "I'm parked by the side of the road". By saying "I'm parked" he implies that he parked the car. Which means he was recently driving and he probably appears intoxicated to the officer.
The guy is not smart. If a cop is talking to you it is very foolish to: a) walk away from him, even a few feet, and b) touch him in any way
Cops have guns. Cops occasionally meet people who are armed and dangerous. If they think you might be dangerous you should reasonably expect trouble.
Yeah, I would hate not to be able to start my car quickly when pirates are chasing me. That would just suck, especially if the first mate couldn't get the cannon reloaded fast enough!;)
My issue (beyond all the obvious "F-U get out of my life you nazi legislators" issues) is this: A lot of people love their cars. They like the way the look. They wash them often and take pride in them. How stupid is the interior of your car going to look with a big plastic tube sticking out of the dash somewhere?
God yes! I cannot believe how bad the Comcast remote and interface is. We moved in January and I was without Tivo for 2 weeks. Pure hell!
The funny thing is that all the things I hated about the cable TV UI and remote in January 2004 were exactly the same in November 1999 (before I got Tivo). It's interesting to note that in almost 5 years there has been almost no development on the system!
I like the Tivo 2 remote however it is definitely a little bit too big. My wife's reaction was that she liked the Tivo 1 remote better because it was smaller. But still both remotes are much better than any other remote I have ever owned. My Sony receiver and TV remotes are prime examples. It's amazing how a company that makes good (excellent, even) A/V equipment can produce such a horrible remote.
Agree... If I was given a choice between a cheaper xbox2 that wouldn't play xbox1 games and no backwards compat I would take the cheaper xbox2. It doesn't seem like a big deal to me, but I have lots of space in my media room.
The reviewer doesn't seem to understand what RDP is and what it's used for. Obviously you cannot expect any remote desktop solution to come anywhere near the performance of a monitor plugged into your video card. It's just not possible.
We have one of these puppies at home. It's not perfect, but it's very nice. My wife uses it to browse online shops while she watches TV. It is absolutely perfect for that kind of usage.
This technology has a lot of room for improvement but if you have a basic understand of what it is and what the limitations are you can get a lot of use out of it. Asking for streaming video over RDP is just not reasonable today.
"For example, do you have any idea of how often US forces have been responsible for friendly fire incidents?"
:(
Ask any Canadian and you'll get an earful!

Anyhow, IMHO the guy is a dork. Fry him up.

"she always is" - ah, the wisdom of marriage.
Actually I channel-bounce too sometimes if I have nothing good recorded, or if I feel like experiencing the "olden days".

You own a Tivo. Why are you channel-bouncing? I think maybe you're missing the point!
Wow! That is very thorough but damn you must do some nasty stuff to your remotes. :)
I'd have to say that anyone who puts any part of a remote into their dishwasher is certifiably insane.
Actually I ripped apart one of my remotes about a week ago. The inside was clean but I did wash some nasty gunk off the plastic button pad.

Non-PG replies in the bit bucket, please.
Are people in the rest of the world this stupid or is it only Americans?
Obviously telemarketing turns up enough fools to make it profitable. That's a scary thought, isn't it?
