Biggest problem that AC2 had from my standpoint, they still had the same bugs that made me quit Asherons Call. (my Slashdot tag is my Asheron's Call Character name.)
I quit Asherons Call because the damned client would crash, my character would run off into the wilderness, and I would die. THis would result in an hours long search for my corpse so that I could get back the equipment that I had lost. Eventually, I decided the hell with it, and stopped playing altogether, since I had become afraid to go anywhere for fear of crashing and losing the equipment I had worked so long to get.
When I tried AC2, it had the same damned client crash problem. Even stranger, it had an old AC problemwhere you could be on the other side of the planet from the town you zoned in on originally, but you would still hear the local chatter from that town.
I'm still planning on re-visiting Asheron's Call when the next expansion comes, giving it the graphics engine from AC2. I had a lot of fun in that game for almost 2 years, before the bugs made me look elsewhere...
You're confusing Wattage with Amperage. The two are not equivalent. Additionally, the 1kW value on this particular PSU is the PEAK usage. IN all likelyhood the system it is installed in will never draw that many watts.
I've had prototype Itanic systems on a 15 watt circuit with 5 other (non-Itanic) machines and not tripped the breaker until I accidentally plugged in a coffee maker on the same circuit.
Well, I haven't seen too many 650 watt PSUs, but remember the unit isn't going to pull more wattage than it's using, so a little overkill won't be environementally wasteful.
Absolutely agree. If my equipment won't play it, I just won't fucking buy it.
If it isn't going to play back in HD on my HTPC, then I might as well buy the DVD instead. I'm not going to shell out $$$ for a new monitor to support their crap, and I'm an early adopter.
The door should also have a "Demo" Mode, where it periodically opens to the position needed for the current record holder, flashing that person's name over the doorway in bright, flashing LEDs (alternating with "Daily Record!!!"
Bah. I'm American, and I haven't given a shit about baseball since the last time those primadonnas went on strike.
I have a lot of respect for the F.A. footballers, on reputation alone, but I have only seen a couple games, because in general I have better things to do than watch other people sport.
Yea good luck with that when you get pulled over with that kind of thing in your car.
Reality calling here, the guy with the gun makes the rules. I mean this in the immediate sense. Yes we have constitutional rights, but for myself, I'm not willing to be a martyr just to see what I can "get away with".
I tend to save my "loyal opposition" for issues that actually matter. Not some stupid college lark over seeing how far I can push it.
You go do your righteous civil disobedience thing on "Principle".
Doing stupid shit for the sake of pissing "the man" off has no purpose or benefit to anyone. It's just an narcessistic "LOOK AT ME!!!" move on your part. Get over yourself.
The top one was the first thing I thought of when I read the story... "Why would someone bother with this when a more appropriate-sized keyboard has already been announced?"
I think the point is that by using someone ELSE's internet connection to do such things, you could implicate them in committing the crimes.
Sort of like breaking into someone's house and telephoning death threats.
I certainly wouldn't want a knock on the door at 2 AM by armed police because they thought I had done something that I hadn't. Had evidence that the activity had come from my network, even.
Additionally, I could give a shit if I acheive the level of my so-called superiors. What I have a problem with regarding your system is that it would cut me down to the level of imbeciles simply because it would contend that it was wrong for me to have an advantage based on having actual intellect.
And you're still a worthless fuckwad, communisttroll.

Sorry, I'm not interested in a system that will cut me off at the knees because I happen to be a bit more clever than the next fellow.
If you spent any time at all around the kind of people who play WoW and the like (myself included) you would know why these people (myself included) should never EVER be given the ability to modify the world to any significant degree.
The phrase I like to apply to this idea pretty much sumarizes my reaction to any new and interesting technology.
And when the facts are that the Revolution won't achieve the requisite market penetration (due to being inferior to it's peers), publishing ONLY on Revolution will be a suicidal move.
Yea and Nintendo is dominating the home (non-portable) console market, isn't it?
Oh that's right, it isn't.
Omitting HD support isn't going to help.
And there's a lot of people out there who aren't Hardcore gamers that will walk into a Gamestop, look at a Revolution title in SD, and see the same title running at HD resolution on a PS3 or Xbox360 and immediately decide that the Revolution looks like shit.
Oh, you say Nintendo's not planning to have any cross platform games? yea that's working out great for them isn't it? I bought a game cube on the day it was released, with a handfull of games. I haven't bought another gamecube game since. The games I'm interested in playing are available on the other platforms as well. They look and play better on the other platforms.
Regardless, if 2 out of 3 consoles support high res graphics, I have a display that supports such, and the third console does not, I will not be buying the third console. Why should I waste my money?
My TV is HD. I'm excluding the Revolution from my list of systems to by now. I had planned to buy them all. Revolution offers me nothing, since it will have an inferior display resolution.
Thanks for saving me ~$200 Nintendo! I really appreciate it.
I am glad that YOU vet what he watches and reads. Too many parents these days expect the Government to do it for them, at the expense of adults who do not have such responsibility.
You are a credit to parents everywhere. I appreciate you controlling your child's entertainment, and not expecting MINE to be watered down for his/her protection.
If they kill AC1, consider Middle Earth Online and D&D online as still-borne.
I won't even think about buying a MMORPG from a company that kills it's game worlds in that short a time (I dont' care about AC2, it was an abortion).
If Turbine kills Asheron's Call, there's no fuckign way I will ever look at another game they publish.

AC2 I won't miss.

Hollywood has an RPG aimed at their own feet.

Remember though, you'll have to rip the cell phone out of that soccer mom's banshee-grip before you can educate her how to handle a vehicle.
;)
You're giveing the general populace far too much credit there, Forrest
I would like to see Manual Transmission made manditory though. Would cull some of the most idiotic of the idiots from the road.
Now this is just rediculous. One of the comparison columns (one reading :Good experience/Best experience" or something similar)reads
Good Experience: Faceplate
Best Experience: Multiple faceplates
Seriously who is going to waste money on more than one plastic faceplate for these things? I can see maybe one to match the room, but several?
I think whoever in marketing over there came up with the face plate thing is getting a little desperate.

Interesting. As far as I know, MSDN subscribers are not included in the Beta. It's invitation only...

Whatever. Fuck off.
And my income is better than "moderate" thank you very much.
Yep, you're a troll, nothing more. I'll just add you to my moron file and be done with you. You have nothing to contribute to the conversation.

I'm not suprised taht the gamecube is now $75.
Fine. Your standards are low. Mine are not.
I won't be buying the next Nintendo console.
I spent good money on a high res display. I'm not going to pay for new content that doesn't take advantage of it.
