  1. Anyone have movie rights yet? on W3C Requests Eolas Patent Re-Examination · · Score: 1

I can't wait to see someone make a movie out of this fiasco, just like "Pirates of Silicon Valley" . Only it should be called "The Lone Cockblocker Who Almost Destroyed The Web" . No one else could make such outrageous claims like they invented the letter "e" and sold it to IBM.

All I can say is Tim Berners-F'n-Lee is on this now? ... hell yeah baby, lead the charge and while you're at it get that other guy that invented the information super thingy , Al what's-his-beard!

    Booyah, Grandma, Booyah!

  2. iTMS AAC M4a files not compatible on Windows iTunes Sells A Million Songs In 3.5 Days · · Score: 1

I'm not sure if this is from their DRM stuff of whatever but if i try and convert an MP3 to AAC format it is only playable in iTMS and Quicktime. That flat out sucks. The new Winamp 5 can rip cd's now to AAC by default and they play on just about everything that supports it. So why don't apple's m4a's play nice with other software?

  5. AAC compression better than MP3? on Hydrogenaudio AAC Listening Test Results · · Score: 1

ok then why is when i convert a 44khz 128kbps CBR MP3 to a 44khz 128kbps CBR MP4/AAC that the file size is rarely smaller by a few bytes and usually larger by a few bytes?
Am i missing something? I'd like to convert my MP3's to AAC's if i could save space but that doesn't look to be the case on average.

  7. Been there done that on Will Video Surfing Become Reality? · · Score: 3, Interesting

Audio and video surfing is already here. It's called Winamp 2.91. Yeah it's got shoutcast built in and now a new thing called Internet TV which is basically Nullsoft Public Acces TV. It's starting to catch on too, there are a number of shows ranging from someone getting drive thru at taco bell to shows like Cartoon Network's Auqa Team Hunger Force. So who needs cable when you have a broadband connection.

  11. Googles reasons on Verbing Weirds Google · · Score: 1

They might just be trying to break out of the shell as being labeled as a search company. Especially now with their purchase of Pyra and Blogger software it seems that Google is trying to do and be more than just a search engine. They weren't even originally trying to develop a search engine in the first place. So it seems that this is more like a cry like "hey stop calling me a search engine, I'm more than that". Their suit may be unjustified but it looks like they are just trying to protect their image, since becoming a household term should never be frowned upon, you can't get better advertising than that.
