Its a shame... From what i've seen of DaVinci, its not a half bad machine. I'm still quite happy with my Psion5, but Having a palm-unit would be a bit more useful for me at this point.
Heh, probably because its on a windows 98 box... while the server itself may be incredible and virtually uncrashable, i wish i could say the same for the underlying OS
And then theres the fact the machine is on the Marist College network, which is pretty shoddy anyway =)
Screw the box, what kind of phone is that? I've never seen anything like that before. I first thought it was breed of startac, but they dont have screens like that one
Thats absolutely ridiculous. If they send an invitation, then they shouldnt try to stop you after that.
Thats like inviting someone over to a party, and when they get there ask them "Do you go to many parties?" When the answer is no, they get shoo'd away.
I still firmly believe that the government should keep everything even vaguely sensative off the net. Yes, keep your public relations websites online, but give me a break, and take off anything.
That will solve their cyberterrorism threat. You cant very well hack into a machine that has no connection to the outside world.
As far as I'm concerned, it doesnt matter. This is neat-o software. Chances are if i saw it on freshmeat, I would have passed it over. if software gets mentioned here, its worth taking a flyby to look at.

Good friend of mine works(worked? i dont know anymore) for Circuit City. All he used to do was spew about how great it was, how it would crush DVD. all DVD players would be useless soon, because they would only be releasing movies on Divx. They were basically brainwashing him.
I've had the same problem here. I asked 'Ask Slashdot' about it quite a while ago. We've got about 17 aliases, but everything only goes out over our main adapater. (We use token ring instead of ethernet (horrible, isnt it), so its tr0 instead of eth0 for us)
I never got an answer so i just gave up and assumed it couldnt be done
Throughout this entire ordeal ive seen the blame shift from the shooters, the net, ID software, the parents, EVERYWHERE. It doesnt really matter whose fault it is at this point. What people have to start realizing is that you cant, can not, push these people around like this. If you push them around, day after day, throw them into lockers, ostracize them, one day they ARE going to retalliate.
Doubtful. I wouldnt want it anyway. Mono crap. TV/Video is nothing compared to that real theater experience. And for a movie like this, i wouldnt want to see it anywhere else.

I read this wrong and thought it said 'EarthLink' 2.7 billion years old...
Gah.

Cya
I agree. I run Apache for Win32 on my machine here and i've NEVER had a single problem.
its rather nifty looking none-the-less

What a waste.

I wonder if he'll believe me now.

God. I wish i could get to one of these things... When i started here, I was told that I'd go to expos and conferences.
The extent of my off-campus, college/work-funded, experiences has been when they department ordered out for pizza.
I hate pizza.
Yay! Finally some quickies. I like a little variety rather than one post on just one topic.

Hell no. I'm not paying $4.50 for a "big" box of say jujubees, just to open it and find a bag inside smaller than what i'd get on halloween.
Sorry, but they'll just have to make do with my stopping at CVS and loading up on goods before i show up.
When are they going to start doing stuff like .BIZ? and .arts and so on?
All i'm gonna say is that I'm glad I use Slackware
So we code more efficiently.
Don't blame us for that.
Incredulous. Im getting so sick of MS's crap. When they f*ck up, I don't want to have pay to fix their mistakes.
... it wouldnt surprise me if Microsoft violated all known child labor laws.
Its in their nature
As far as I'm concerned, who cares! Its an invasion of privacy none-the-less.
mmmm... toys.
Doesnt surprise me. When you give a company that much power, they think they're allowed to do anything
Something I think we've all experienced is a lack of pockets for all of our gadgets. I just dont have enough palaces to put my stuff.
Tandy notepad (ye olde Radio-shack newton look alike)
REX,
Pager for work
Personal pager,
leatherman,
and so on...
NOT ENOUGH POCEKTS!
