CF is a parrallell interface that's effectively a miniaturized ISA slot. While the CF cards themselves aren't very big... the connectors are HUGE!!!!
Memory transfer rates on CF cards are limited. So as media sizes increase, the devices themselves will become an impedement to video and floppy replacement applications.
I expect that we'll eventually see a CF replacement (still capable of housing a micro-drive) based on PCI Express.
Sony seems to be doing just fine with it's card. It's a proprietary format. But so is SD/MMC, and Memcard and xD.
Until PCIExpress/Express Card permeates the laptop market, we probably won't see a proper open standard successor to Compact Flash.
I guess they were trying to save money... but I really despised:
a) The use of 4 button jackets and ugly patterned dress shirts for the men.
b) The use of off the shelf Altec headsets.
c) The foolish notions of "networking" computers. Any ship that large would HAVE to implement a network. Though, it's probably hard to explain communication protocols to a "general" audience.
Other than that, everything seems pretty cool. This is picking up the "dirty, grity" thing that I originally expected from Voyager.

Drill underground bunkers with self contained atmosphere's and large food and fuel reserves. The alternative is a more invasive C-section. The result is the same, the fetus is already dead.
Yes there are some doctors who will exploit these things and attempt to do third term abortions using these provisions. But this is the exception rather than the rule. And in such cases, Democrats SUPPORT convicting the doctors.
