I think there still are games that stimulate creation. The last one of them I've played must be Rollercoaster Tycoon. While a great simulation game (you have to build theme parks, including rollercoasters etc), you can really build great worlds in it !
I was a great fan of LEGOs a few years ago, and I really think it's the same kind of entertainment : you can create whatever you want. Just use some piece of lane to make a roof for your station, etc.
And then you can send/get your creation to friends, or download other people's creations. Of course, you have to have the game installed to view them...
7. Easy way of sharing files. Ideally a right-click on a directory and chose "share this directory". Be able to pull up a list of all folders you are sharing and change permissions or remove the sharing.
Just try KDE3, this already exists ! Appbar -> Add -> Applet -> Public file server.
Now you can choose which directory to share, which bandwidth to allow, and hop, magic, you can watch the bandwidth usage in the appbar ! I really couldn't find anything easier...
I'm interested to see the FF world taken to an MMORPG. If anyone can make the genre not suck, it's Square.
Hey, MMORPGs are great !:)
Moreover, I honestly can't figure out playing an MMORPG on my console... bandwidth ? keyboard (ok but you'll have to buy it) ? patches on the HD ?
This could be fun however, but personally I'm really looking forward to StarWars Galaxies [www.starwarsgalaxies.com], World of Warcraft [www.blizzard.com/wow], Neocron [www.neocron.com] and, of course, Milcis [www.milcis.net];)
The market is going to be satured soon, let's see what will come out of it:)
At least it's not the case for the console players...
I read many people saying that M$ did not establish any standard, well, I think it depends on what you mean by standard.
Just think a minute : What is the "standard" text document type you will get from any teacher / friend / etc. ?
PDF? No, because the guy doesn't have time to spend on making a PDF, and you might need to edit the document (and you don't have any PDF editor).
HTML ? Erk, no, especially if there are graphics or other special objects in it.
So what? .DOC of course. I'm not talking about all the *nix geeks here, but of "mister everybody" who simply doesn't know that there exists other types of documents !
In people's mind, if you send a text (report, article) you send a Microsoft Office Word (whatever the version) document.
And of course, school teachers teach students how to use Word, in many enterprises this is the standard file type for procedures, reports, etc !
How do you want people to think that there is better standards than.doc when they keep using it all day long?
And of course, that's the same with Excel and Powerpoint. And your (windosian) friends (if you have some:) ) don't care if you can't read this macro-filled.xls file, because they think you are a strange user and they use the standard.
Maybe M$ doesn't make real standards, but they surely do "people's standards".

Is it the same guy who says that playing a witty sport such as football makes you more clever ?
I don't buy it, sorry.
The day you will have to debug some code to switch on the central heating in winter, you'll understand why people keep doing it by hand.
Actually, I went to see SW Ep2 on Thursday the 16th at midnight :)
;)
Ep1 at 21h00 (15th May) and Ep2 at 00h01 (16th May).
So that I did not have to skip my job
