  1. Wrong, I live in NZ and Australia on China Orders E-Mail Screening · · Score: -1

The standard rules say the Governor General of Australia or New Zealand may dismiss a minority government which doesn't call an election. (the NZ government is a minority)
The GG can also dismiss any government which tries to abolish the monarchy regardless of how much support that government has. (it happened in Australia in the 70's)

Feel free to declare your wish to abolish the monarchy and see how many civil servants start spying on you.

A democracy is a government which is elected by the people. A democracy has a written constitution.
A monarchy is a government which is elected by being born. A monarchy has the word of the monarch.

In a democracy, law must be constitutional.
In a monarchy, law is whatever the monarch says it is.

You could argue that america has currently reverted to a monarchy because the president is the son of a former president.
The unconstitutional USA PATRIOT act is the perfect example of the president removing constitutional rights to behave like a tyrant.

Samizdat (publication of subversive literature) is a KAOS project technically known as an Agile Network.

    >We started as a right-wing gov't in all respects,

    >This is where it gets muddy. America certainly started with a right-wing government in the sense that it was a military government led by General Washington. On the other hand, by the standards of the day (Monarchies-a-go-go) the country's ideals as a whole were pretty left-wing.
    > Compared to today, perhaps, it appears right-wing but then there are few, if any, monarchies (ie monarchs with real political power) left in the English-speaking world today.

So who is the Queen of England? is she not also the Queen of Australia and New Zealand?
Can she not dismiss any Government of the UK, NZ or Australia?
    > I would argue that America today is more right wing than in 1776 as it has not moved as much as the rest of its peers towards the very ideals it was set up in the name of and has refused to look at some of the errors that were made in those early days, such as the 2nd amendment.

So what if America is right wing, at least they have the freedom to democratically choose what to do.
The UK, NZ & Australia merely have an appearance of democracy with a monarchy that can do what it wants.
If going right wing is the price to pay for democratic freedoms, then I support the american revolution and any that may come to Australia, New Zealand or the United Kingdom.
