    They have those hydrogen fuel cell cars now.
    Not sure how much they cost, but I know that a 2.5 kg tank will get you just over 500 km of travel.
    If you had a solar panel roof, it could be very cheap to run even when you're not near refuelers.

    I need to be root for some of the apps I'm running.

    I only got my cable modem last week.
    I've yet to get the installation assistant running after already setting up my system.

    However, I could burrow my dad's 75 gig drive, backup my main 30 gig drive and remove the UFS partition which is mostly empty space.
    Then I could setup OS X for my cable modem.

    For some strange reason, it was still using the system's apache instead of the new apache in my apps folder. Have yet to get OS X to use my cable modem.

    OS X is based on FreeBSD 3.4 and you can get the FreeBSD base for free download via apple.

    Reception cuts out just 15 minutes from masterton, in the wairarapa which is a small rural town.
    This is mainly due to the mountainous nature of new zealand.

    As for flicker, I'm sure you don't notice flicker at the movies (24 fps vs 25 fps on PAL)

    NZ beer ranges from 3 to 4.5 (light), 5 to 7 (reg), 8 to 9.5 (strong)
    And we don't spoil it by drinking warm piss.

    You mean the obvious ripoff of the Aqua interface?
    Sure XP is good, but it's not as stable as OS X.
    And it definately lacks the performance of OS X.

    OS X has a built in assistant and it works pretty much like a mac with freebsd under it.
    However, I'm having p-roblems replacing the default page on my new 1.3.19 version of apache.
    Maybe I should chuck it and go back to the system's apache, I also need to get OS X to use my cable modem.

    With virtual PC, I have win 98 running with star office (free).
    I'm waiting for office 10 with OS 10.1 that is rumored to be better than office XP.

    I'm the only user of my Mac OS X box, I read my mail as root. However, seeing as I can't get my cable modem to talk to OS X, I'm only running OS 9.

    In new zealand, mobile numbers have 2 digit area codes, then 6 digits for plan phones, 7 digits for prepaid phones.

    the underlying cli is irrelevant to most people.
    However, the fact that OS X has apache server built in makes it very desirable.
