    Sorry to say buddy, but you already do. The government controls the lives of most people. Sure that may suck when you have to pay taxes, or you get a ticket for speeding, but on the other hand, that bored borderline sociopathic teenager from the rougher sides of town will actually think twice about breaking into your house, because the executive branch of the law will probably catch up with him and he will be in shit.

    Problem is, we get the worst of both sides. We still have to pay taxes and speeding tickets, and the government still wants to seize our guns, downloaded movies, and pron, but doesn't have time/money to stop the bored borderline sociopathic teenager from the rougher sides of town.

    Content on Facebook (and any other social networking site with privacy controls) isn't for public consumption - it's for consumption by those whom you've marked as friends

    If it's shared among your 5,000 closest friends, I'd call that pretty public. :p

    The people of the jury don't (or shouldn't) know anything about you, so probably have no "agenda". They do have biases, but it's doubtful that all 12 would have the same biases.

    I want a financial management program that downloads directly from my bank. Gnucash doesn't do this. Quicken does. Last time I tried Wine, it did well to run Solitare, let alone Quicken. And even if it ran Quicken, why should I go to the trouble of running it on an emulator when I can run it on genuine Windows?

    I don't know about the modern netbooks, but with some of the laptops I've had, they only do the sleeping part reliably. Waking is iffy.

    What's wrong with being schizofrenic? :) Although I do use "Cro Magnon" at a number of other sites, I also have quite a few other identities.

    Also, I've seen some Cro Magnons that aren't me, so you can't really track me by my /. identity.
