As far as I'm concerned, they are as culpable in the censorship as the Chinese government is.

I doubt that there was any organized genocide against Neanderthals. More likely, we killed them by beating them to the dinner table. Every buffalo we killed & ate, meant hungry Neanderthals. Of course, we probably killed a few Neanderthals directly as well, but it wasn't much different from the way one animal kills another.

Here's my story: On my previous box, Linux installed fairly easily. However, on my latest and greatest, RH & SuSe just choked! After weeks of asking questions and being told "RTFM n00b" I managed to get Slackware partially working (no printer, no sound). I later got Debian Sarge working except for the printer. Mandrake 10 worked, but borked on an upgrade. Ubuntu didn't recognize my monitor.

Also, during the time I used Windows, I got used to having a financial management program that could actually download my bank data, which gnucash couldn't do.

Last, but not least, I coughed up the money for an iBook last fall, and every PC peripheral that I've plugged into it JustWorked, including that problem printer that didn't work in XP!!

Tinkering with my computer was fun when I was 20. It's less fun now that I'm 40+ with a life beyond computers. I like Linux, but for now, I'll stick with OSX.

It depends. I have a job where I only need English, and an English speaking GF. Though there are quite a few Spanish speakers in my area, 90% of them also speak adequate English. There's really no strong reason for me to learn Spanish. OTOH, if I had a school age kid, I would encourage him to learn Spanish, simply because most of the local businesses advertise "Hablamos Espanol", and someone who speaks it would probably get a job over someone who didn't.

Not neccesarily. Perhaps FreeBSD/Linux/NetBSD ARE too complicated! I've found installing Linux to be YMMV. Some distros on some machines have installed easier than Windows.
