    I won't be looking at a HP Smartphone until 2007 then.

    What is this? The middle ages? I don't know about the US but the rest of us here have moved on from GSM/TDMA/CDMAOne. Hell, I've been using UMTS for over 2 years now and I'm wondering when the hell smart phone manufacturers were intending to catch up.

    Actually I'm pretty sure the honour of the smallest Nokia phone ever made is the 8210 coming in at 66cc. The 8250 which was much cooler is 69cc which is probably the greatest Series 40 mobile phone that Nokia ever made.

    Ummm... What the hell?

    The GP is correct. iTMS files are .m4p (MPEG-4 Protected?) while unencrypted is .m4a (MPEG-4 Audio?).

    Go download iTunes and rip a CD using AAC. Guess what you'll get?

    The key never actually gets transported nor is it known to anyone outside the USB key and the server.

    You could think of the "Sin & Punishment" award as "I didn't get it so I'm at least going to inflame the fanboys to get something out of this game." Except for Sin & Punishment which was actual crap.

    Ikaruga is a top down shooter which is awesome for us fanboys who love the genre. Just because you don't love the genre is no reason to call the game "garbage". Just put the game aside, realise the whole genre isn't your cup of tea and move on.

    I bet he doesn't like Rez because it was on the rails totally missing the point.

    There are UI things I don't like - for example options missing from the context menu that are only on the main menu.. so you have to go hunting around for them instead of just getting on with what you want to do. Finder seems to have a problem shutting apps down too.. you can close them and they'll keep running.

    Application Name --> Quit Application.

    Get into the habit of using it if you want to quit each time.

    There are perfectly good reasons for OSX maintaining this behaviour of not closing apps when the last window is closed. For something like iTunes you can either a) minimize the window which clutters up the dock, b) change it to mini mode which is still another window open or c) close the window and let iTunes run in the background anyway.

    Ditto for Mail.

    Part of the cost of the calculator is employing the wizards that actually craft the software that run on these calculators. They do absolutely amazing things with the power they have.

    I'm a HP fanboy but I can tell you why they don't shift to a new architechture.

    Because there is so much invested in the current architechture. TI only just switched to 68K and they threw away 10 years of product development to switch to 68K in the first place.

    I have a HP-49G and I loved the thing. It got me through College Calculus without a problem.

    The best thing about the HP-49G? For people like me who came from a HP-38G in high school I could use the normal algebraic mode instead of being forced to adapt to RPN of the 48G. Yes I know real men use RPN but I couldn't adapt to it.

    *sigh*

    Brings me back.

    Crap. That's why I still use my MX-510 for games.

    Once you've pushed the button down you can't push another down so for games that use 2 buttons at once its useless.

    I have a trillion coreded mouses that have a trillion buttons so I don't need another corded mouse to replace the ones I already have.

    I don't have a cordless mouse yet and I might be looking at one for my PC. Especially with the rechargable Li-ion packs. Since I don't have a better cordless mouse the G7 is a possibility.

    I've always had Logitech gear. In fact, until my Mighty Mouse I was 100% logitech. Basic 2 button + scroll for the rest of the family, Mouseman Dual for the PC, MX-510 for the mac.

    I will be getting a G7. G5 doesn't have enough buttons for me. G15 is definately on the "buy on release" list. Sadly I'm in Australia so I might be waiting a while :(

    For all its advanced technology the Vorbis crew still can't give us an easy download to a standard, official Directshow decoder.

    Brilliant! A codec I can't use without trapsing around the intarweb for a third party Directshow codec or getting program specific support! 'Nuf said.

    Windows Media Player already prevents DRMed content from being output to a digital source.
