  1. Aiee. on Nick Cancelling Invader Zim · · Score: 1

To say I'm disappointed would be true. To say I'm surprised, would not be. Anyone who didn't see this coming needs to be hit in the head with a large bat. This show definitely had, as someone earlier noted, some hella subversive material in it.

I was watching one particular episode and noticed that there were a lot of signs in the background containing all sorts of little messages. "Stop making babies!" "The Goat wants you!" and "Love or DIE!" were all some of them. It's hilarious, but definitely pretty messed up.

It probably cost a lot to make, judging from the quality of the animation. Damn it was good.

I wonder how much we're directly responsible for, though. I only watched three or four episodes on TV, then began to download them, only to never tune in again. I wonder how many other people opted to download episodes instead of watch them when they were broadcast. Only in hindsight do I realize that I was cheating the show of the ratings it so desperately needed to stay on the air. So I can't help but feel somewhat responsible for its death. After all, you get what you give.

When I was 6, my mom bought this balloon for me. I accidentally let it go and it went higher and higher, never to be seen again.

    Sorry NASA.

  3. Here's an idea. on Home Server Rooms? · · Score: 1, Funny

Tell a few people that they can room for free in this new house if they stay in that room. And blow upon the servers. For all eternity.

Hey! I've seen the Matrix. It's only a matter of time before that AI turns on me and soon I'm punching my mother in the face. No thank you, AI Virtual Keyboard.

  5. Let the good times roll! on LOTR Campout Begins · · Score: 0

Well at least now the Danes can have a new hobby other than "being Danish": Driving up onto the sidewalk in front of movie theatres and obliterating these kids.

  6. Magnetic fluids... interesting. on Magnetic Fluids · · Score: 0

This could provide for some fun situations. For example, say you're at a bar and you "accidentally" spill your magnetic beer all over a cute girl's shirt. Now say, hypothetically that you just happened to have one of those magic wand magnets in your pocket. I'm just saying. It could be entertaining.

  7. I think it's fine. on New Cube controller · · Score: 0

And here's why. The controller for the GCN is very small. Now, assuming that they kept the ends of this peripheral the same size as the regular one, the keyboard is probably going to be quite small.

If that's the case, this thing won't be as gargantuan as everyone is making it out to be. It'll probably stretch out to be about the average shoulder length of the player, which isn't unreasonable.

  8. Re:Mix the Generas! on The Future of Gaming · · Score: 0

The only problem with your potential situation is that in an RTS, all of the units are supposed to respond to you exactly as you tell them. But if you have humans controlling all of the units, that would mess things up.

Joe RTS would get pissed off if Jane FPS decided she didn't like his plan of attack, and he'd start flaming her, she'd start flaming him, then Bob Flightsim would jump in and tell them all to shut up, and pretty soon it would turn into a standard game of Counterstrike.

Tribes 2 kind of did this with the Commander screen. And games are starting to kind of mix genres. Driving with shooting, etc.

  9. Re:ION Storm? on The Future of Gaming · · Score: 1, Informative

Yeah, but Romero isn't even a part of it anymore. If I recall correctly, he left it to create a company that develops games for PocketPCs. So now you can think of it as the company that gave you Deus Ex, one of the best PC games in recent history. Or as the company that Warren Spector, inarguably one of the best game designers out there today, is a part of.
