    I changed my mind, I'm going to do this myself. Check out http://www.cafepress.com/EvilVCRs some time after an half an hour after I post this. I need to concentate on the delicate process of copying and pasteing text into a graphics program.

    I smell a T-shirt opportunity. Err, maybe after it got dirty, then I would smell it. God that was lame. Anyway, seriously, someone with some more motivation then me, make that or another comment from his statement into a .jpg/.png/.bmp whatever image and go to cafepress.com and get to selling. I might buy one.

    Either the underratted thing, or you have a score of 5, then someone rates you as troll, then the idot posts a reply to tell you why they modded you that way. Doing that will take away their score, but not the description, troll, so you get +5 troll.

    Maybe I'm wrong. I think I saw something like that happen once.

    I was thinking of taking College level metal shop and building my own computer case. I would make it out of aluminum and make grids in the entire case like a HUGE heatseak. Then I would attach more aluminum, or a more condenser metal, to the power supply, CPU, HDD, and maybe the ram and have them all fead to the outside of the case, distrubting the heat. Does anyone see anything wrong with this idea? Should I use another metal?

    because they are so damn expensive. Instead, I got a very cheep lcd projection panal of ebay (like these) and a cheap used overhead projector and now, with a white wall or on a cheep screen, I can get high denfination (1024x768) ~8' by 8' TV. It was the smartest AV thing I ever did.

    Remember when Napster got into all the legal troubles that things like 'Open Nap' and Napagator became popular to access non offical open source servers? Why can't the same thing happen with Audiogalaxy? I know at least part of their code is open source, so that would help.

    It would also be nice because AG blocked a lot of popular songs from being downloaded, and I'm sure the open servers wouldn't do that.

    Could someone explain the point of this exersise, except for the hack value. I don't want to be flamebait or a troll, but why would someone want linux on a low resulation TV monitor? You could use a regular monitor, but if you have a regular monitor, you probably already have a computer to partion and put linux on.

    Why not write a shell script, with say the most common 1,000 or 10,000 (or even greater) passwords and just have it look at the password when the user changes it, and spit out a printf("that is a common password, for security reasons, please change it something that is harder to crack") or whatever and prompt them again.

    (sorry for basicly copying this from a pervious post, but since you didn't leave an email address, and the questions are the same, I had to)

    I am a Junior undergrad and I was a computer science major but chnged to BioInfomatics (before I heard of it being a "hot job") because of my first love for Biological Chemistry. I am a BioChem major with a minor in CS right now and I am looking at BioInfomatics major for a masters degree.

    I also have the option of going to medical school. If getting in wasn't a problem, what would be the better path to becomeing a good BioInformatic Scientist? I'm sure I could learn a lot more about the human body in Med school, and I could pick up the languages and structure of CS by myself. What do you think?

    What other common computer processes and languages, Besides Perl, do you use in Bioinformatics? What else besides learning as much Science/CS should I do to prepare myself to compete with all the "my guidence conselor said this would be a good job" people? I am reading every Perl book I can get a hold of, includeing thouse said O'Reily ones on Bioinfomatics. What else should I be doing at this level and in the future?

    According to the O'Reilly books, bioinformatics is just writing Perl scripts to parse BLAST output...

    What other languages and common computer processes do you do in Bioinformatics?

    I am a Junior undergrad and I was a computer science major but chnged to BioInfomatics (before I heard of it being a "hot job") because of my first love for Biological Chemistry. I am a BioChem major with a minor in CS right now and I am looking at BioInfomatics major for a masters degree.

    What else besides learning as much Science/CS should I do to prepare myself to compete with all the "my guidence conselor said this would be a good job" people? I am reading every Perl book I can get a hold of, includeing thouse said O'Reily ones on Bioinfomatics. What else should I be doing at this level and in the future?

    As long as we have hardware we can chop and change there will be conflicts and glitches, that is almost totally unavoidable (unless you buy a Mac :)

    In which case it would just be totally unavoidable. I have a friend who still has to use BETA drivers for his video card. A lot of hardware devolpers don't always develop for the Mac, or if they do they certainly don't do as good as job as they do for windows.

    All the workers in Nike plants are 14+ years old. I saw it on a Micheal Moore's movie "The Big One" when Moore interviewed Phil Knight, the founder of Nike. There are 14 year old people working in corn fields "detassleing" (taking the male top part off of the certian corn plants so it can be hybrid properly) which is hard work. That is being done in the United States. Are you going to give up eating food too?
