  1. Yeah But... on Clever New Windows Worm · · Score: 1

I guess it works but...It seems that this thing just doesn't let you open any exe files and a bunch of other one's
What if i get an executable or a MDB or a whatever that I want and is not a virus? They have to mail me a disk with the thing or what?

I don't see a lot of companies implementing this really. Plus, why should I get screwed by not being able to recieve files when its really only the guys who open the LetsBeFriend.txt.vbs who are the problem?
I don't mean to sound to much like a raging liberal but I think that these people who open them just need to be educated as to what not to open. Or, of course, make outlook a little safer in general, not by blocking things that could, possibly, be a problem. Its like not letting people logon to their computer because they might fuck it up. (Sometimes this doesn't sound like that bad an idea, I know.)

How are these songs going to cause 'hurt and anguish' exactly? I'm sure that if I was walking through downtown NYC playing S & G's 'Bridge Over Troubled Water' everytone would be really pissed. And Walk Like an Egptian?!?!? WHY? because its got the word Egyptian in it. The Egyptians had nothing to do with this thing. This is the kind of shit that gets people thinking that it was 'those damn Muslims'. Its like saying I'm responsible for the holocaust 'cause I'm a white guy...ridiculous. This things gotta be a joke. I mean CCR's 'Travellin Band'? and J. Taylor 'Fire and Rain'. There's gotta be more horribly tasteless songs with the word fire in them that we should ban also (*sarcasm*). Get real man.

  3. Thats fine... on Hotmail Hacked · · Score: 1

because I think everyone has the right to know how to enlarge their penis by as much as 25%! Sorry but i had to put this link in here from one of my confidential hotmail mails. That electrical thing looks very dangerous.

  4. Re:Maybe I'm mis-informed on Florida County Asks Students To Crack Elections · · Score: 1

In Tampa there were a apparently a number of reports that the polls were closed with people still in line.
See Here and Here It looks like a lot of people either didn't know where they were supposed to go or were getting sent around in circles until they were too late because the cops didn't have anything better to do.

  5. Wire Tap? on Judge Demands Details Of FBI's Keylogger · · Score: 1

It seems that whatever it is and however it works its basically like a wire tap or a planted microphone in terms of legal issues. And since the Court Order just says that they can get any information from the office including all information residing ont he computer's hard drive or removable media, but says nothing about leaving recording devices or wiretaps...It seems like this is a pretty straight forward violation of the law. Maybe I'm missing something.

  6. Re:Not unusual on Brain vs. Computer: Place Your Bets · · Score: 3, Interesting

I got it from the Article. All I can find is that the original Fritz (running on a P90) beat the Deep Blue Prototype the year before it played Kasparov.

'By winning the championships Fritz demonstrated that chess knowledge was at least as important as computing power - Fritz was using one of the least powerful computers in the tournament (a standard Pentium 90MHz PC supplied by the Chinese University of Hong Kong)'

See: http://www.dcs.qmw.ac.uk/~icca/WCCC8/chess95.html Round 5 is DB vs. Fritz

  7. Re:Not unusual on Brain vs. Computer: Place Your Bets · · Score: 1

At first it seems like a lot but there was $2million total prize money when this guy beat Kasparov. I'd probably bet on the computer too seeing that: 'Deep Fritz has previously beaten Deep Blue, Kasparov and World Chess Federation champion Vishwanathan Anand. ' and that when he played Kasparov 13 of the 16 games came to a draw

  8. Mario Kart???? on Gamespy.com's "Top 50 Games of All Time" · · Score: 1

This list is really biased towards action games. You can tell because they left Mario Kart (Super or 64) out of the list all together. I'm not sayinbg its the best game ever but its pretty damn sweet. Maybe they don't have great graphics and stuff like that but even after I got 007 on the 64 (which does make the list...and deserves to) I think I still have played Kart much more.

  9. Re:New or old? on Best Sci Fi Currently On Television? · · Score: 1

Hands Down Quantum Leap. I'd take Sam and Al over John Crichton and Aeryn Sun anyday of the week and twice on Sundays.

And the old Star Trek's of course are great. But not even Kirk has had to save the world while trapped in the body of a chimp. (Has he?)
