I'd like it more if it would let me run homebrew apps and emulators but this is a good update.
I haven't gotten to play with it much but they did improve the text entry system a little. Now you can see the characters each button can produce as you're cycling through them. I still wish they would have add a quarty keyboard option. Maybe 2.1:)
Also, the browser seems much faster than the WipeOut one. It also has page viewing modes like NetFront - best fit, smart fit, and normal. You can set the cache up to 2MB and it at least supports Java Script. Hit the triangle to slide the top and bottom menu options on and off the screen - very slick!
Are your sure you've done your homework? That's a bold statment. The iRiver players are extreamly feature rich. I have a 40GB precolor model. It's the most feature rich I've ever heard of.It has:
- optical and analog in and out
- built in or external mic
- records direct to mp3 or wav
- supports use of a monitor while recording
- records up to 175MB or 5 hours per file
- using winamp playlists
- views text files while music is playing
- can delete files on the device
- can format the hard drive
- can mark sections of a song to loop
- will let you define the amount of time you skip at a time in a song
- of course the fm tuner
I'm sure I'm missing some but most people don't know about alot of these features. A few were added in the latest software update.
I'm glad you like your Rio. For me, the iRiver is the only option.
I agree the ipod is useless for geeks - no extra features and actually less than the bare minimum if you ask me. You don't want me to get started on the Shuffle - that's one of the most stupid products I've ever seen.
I'm just glad that someone at Sony was sleeping when they designed the psp and it actually does play normal mp3's! Yeah, it's still got propietary storage but that's normal for a game system. At least I can plug it into my pc via usb and the msduo shows up as a drive!
Settlers of Catan is a board game that started in Germany and is huge in Europe. Apparently there are leages for it over there. Myself and many friends of mine play settlers often.
It's a great board game because there is a great deal of veriablity from one game to the next. This is due to the board being composed of tiles that change every game and the die roll. Depening on the way the tiles are layed out (randomly), certin resources become more or less valuable and this changes how one needs to play the game. The object of the game is to be the first person to get 10 victory points.
During the game there is a lot of player interaction as resources are bartered back and forth.
A game of regular settlers (there are expansions and variations) with people who know how to play typically takes from 30 to 60 minutes.
The game has some similarities to Monopoly and Risk but is really a completly different kind of game. Most people to like Risk seem to really enjoy settlers.
Same here. Dell Optiplex desktops are great but I'll never buy a Dell laptop. We had so many problems with our Dell laptops at work it's not funny. I finnaly convinced my boss to switch to something reliable - IBM ThinkPads.
We had everything go wrong with the Dells from poor engineering that results in the keys marking the screen to bad harddrives, memory, motherboards, screens, batteries, mouse buttons that fall off...AAAAHHHHHH!!!! They're trash. We tried Inspirons and Latitudes.
Great comparison but they don't take into account how long it takes to get to the library, phone charges, etc. For me, 15 minutes on Google is faster than 30 seconds at the library.
Not to say that this Bible story is wrong or Evolution is wrong but can you really say that "two of every single creature on earth and a handful of people who then proceeded to populate the entire earth" is less probable than Evolution? Would you also say that Evolution is "ridiculous on the face of it"? Different people find different things ridiculous. Think about other things that you may not find ridiculous that could be to others - possibly with some good, although maybe questionable, reason.
I also switched to taxcut last year because of the drm thing. I love it. It handles all my deductions and everything else just as well as turbotax did. I have no plans to switch back. I don't pirate software and I expect companies to trust me with the product that I pay my money for.

You can use google and type in this:
40mph in knots
it will give you this:
40 mph = 34.7590497 knots
