Meaningless! Meaningless!â
says the Teacher. âoeUtterly meaningless!
Everything is meaningless.â 3 What do people gain from all their labors
at which they toil under the sun? 4 Generations come and generations go,
but the earth remains forever. 5 The sun rises and the sun sets,
and hurries back to where it rises. 6 The wind blows to the south
and turns to the north; round and round it goes,
ever returning on its course. 7 All streams flow into the sea,
yet the sea is never full. To the place the streams come from,
there they return again. 8 All things are wearisome,
more than one can say. The eye never has enough of seeing,
nor the ear its fill of hearing. 9 What has been will be again,
what has been done will be done again;
there is nothing new under the sun. 10 Is there anything of which one can say,
âoeLook! This is something newâ? It was here already, long ago;
it was here before our time. 11 No one remembers the former generations,
and even those yet to come will not be remembered
by those who follow them.
This is dependant for certain areas in the U.S. You need to go to where the IT jobs are at, if you think your dirt water town is going to have an IT hirring binge you are misinformed and dilussional.
However I have seen IT salaries stay within year 1998 ranges and they never recovered after the Dot bomb crash. They have never kept pace.
Also a lot of small companies (less than 100 people) hire one IT person to be Head Chef, Bottle washer and waiter and the pay is 25% less of an expert in thier particular discipline.
The only way you are ever going to go over the 100k mark and above you need to specialize in an area that is hot and always remain hot.
I am sure there are others but as I have been in the job market for the past year companies are hiring at bargin prices. If this current president is voted out we will see empolyeers start to hire and wages will go up and those employers who thought they got such a great deal hirring IT man because of a "Weak Economy" will find themselves scrambling to keep thier bargin basement IT man.
But then I have seen IT people put up with a lot of B.S. for the scrap they are managing. I have been in 3 IT compaines in the past year and to see how they manage thier infrastructure is amazing.
Low priorites No security or lack of it Outdated equipment including the software that should have been updated as part of the original maintenance plan.
Chinese contractors, Non Us Citizen contractors. Yes yes the cheapest bidders! As long as everyone is making thier 10% on thier stocks everyone is happy right?
The pilot not being seperated from his chair upon ejecting is also troublesome. MOS 6087 is in trouble
They are going over the maintenance records of this aircraft. Maintenance has stopped at this squadron as normal operating procedures. They call it a safety standown.
It will take 6 months or more before we know anything else. You can all go back to your so called normal lives.
This is what happens when you have companies who have people who wear many hats and don't commit a person to watching over security. I see it all day long, they want someone who has PCI experience but they also want you to manage the network and everything else that plugs into the wall.
Companies who deal with credit card information needs to dedicate a security person to ensure that all PCI guidelines are being enforced and followed. There are specific tools and software that PCI compliant companies have to have in place. I bet you the compliance guy was working on the other 10 emergencys that had nothing to do with PCI at the time the breach occured. Guess who gets fired now.
Who needs to be paranoid when companies whos bottom line is to send out work to a low wage paying country so they can turn maddive profits at the expense of national security?
Cisco doesn't seem to care so why should any other company?
If you think for one moment that the Chinese governement doesn't have spies working in those factories and making coppies of every single chip and installing doomsday chips in those electronics you are very naive.
Where were all thier network security experts at? Oh Yeah I forgot they bundle them all into the "jack of all trades" title and get paid 1/10 of what a network administrator gets paid.
I was at a job that thought email was an instant means of communication and if you did not respond to the email that were burried under the weight of MT Everest they would yell at you. Not to mention emails that came in at 9:00pm you were expected to answer them the first thing when you came into the office. I mean really? Seriously email has gotteno out of hand people think it's a religion.
Wasn't this already covered by Arthur C Clarke, Carl Sagan and a myriad of other great astronomers? This is not surprising. What I want is to have them find an Earth Like planet. I want the existence of Alien humanoid life to be confirmed.

U.S. citizens who live in other countries take the risk of being the first killed whenever mahem occurs in that country.
Of course the same risk applies in the U.S.
The one thing U.S. citizens don't understand is that they are the first to be dragged onto the street and executed.
Everyone knows where the ugly American lives.

It's a great adavancement in robotics but combat? 1 round from my M-16 at 200 yards incapacitaites it or probably destroys it.
Way to noisy.
Way to heavy
Very scary
I would like to purchase 10k worth of shares please.

One mk48 torpedo is all it would take to destroy this place.
Oh I can see the Navy attaching listening equipment to the undersea cable that feeds this place.
Yes your QSA should be fired and your company should be fined for running antiquated software that has security holes the size of the grand canyon.
