I would argue that global population is the elephant in the room in every world saving discussion. Approx 350,000 people born everyday right now and is only speeding up. Becoming sustainable with a rapidly growing population is mind boggling.

Realistically the only goal for the entire planet right now should be nuclear fusion.

It should be the new space-race!

  6. Great Concept, Poor Excecution on Social Media 'Increases Loneliness', Says Study (bbc.co.uk) · · Score: 5, Insightful

My problem with facebook, and all social media, is that it doesn't level the playing field. Its all about popularity. Its about the amount of likes you get and the amount of friends you have and the most this and the most that. Its all about metrics for marketing. That's all they care about. From it, we get a lame experience. If you remove the popularity aspect of things from social media it would be a great place.

I fire up Edge when I'm on battery power on my laptop. It definitely gets better battery life. I wouldnt use it for day to day though.

  8. I was 3d printing an very large object on my printer and the print time was 21 hours. I was checking on it all day (its really fun to watch) and then finally after it was printing for 18 hours I walk back in to the room and see my printer sitting there motionless and my computer had an 'updates were installed' message waiting for me. THANKS WINDOWS 10, that was super important.

MASSIVE HACK = Phishing passwords from election staff. This does not require the technical abilities of an entire nation to pull off. Saying that "because we know how their government works, Putin must of have been directly involved" is incredibly stupid. Guess what, the president knows about everything that goes on in the USA as well because they have briefings. I'm glad the internet exists! Otherwise if some 'respected news source' told me Putin lived in a secret lair under a volcano and was plotting to blow up the planet, I'd probably believe them.

This is the way vehicles SHOULD be made. To be upgradable instead of replaceable. Its like they are taking the computer approach to making vehicles. Bug patches and minor updates. This is way better for the environment and much cheaper in the R&D department. We need to enter a phase in humanity where we dont throw away our cars every couple years!
