So criminals would rather attack the huge mass of "Windows and not much else" owning people instead of the rather big group of wealthy Mac owners? Why exactly?
Unless he was worried that the exploit would be discovered by malicious crackers, sitting on the exploit was no risk.
Ohh? So you agree that the exploit wasn't easy to find. Wouldn't that mean that OS X is actually pretty safe?
How dare he use his technical skills for personal gain. Wait, what do you do for a living? Yeah, real classy. You should work for free, society deserves to leech off you...
Somebody should check his files whether he thinks artists should work for free.
"should work on the iPhone but the bug couldn't (be) used twice in the competition."
So the iPhone should be quite vulnerable, but wasn't compromised because it wouldn't have been eligible for the award since it was the same exploit used against OS X in the first day.
That makes two things apparent:
A) Miller only had one fault left (and didn't find a new one since he found it a year ago).
B) He wanted the MacBook Air more than an iPhone and $10,000 in cash. Or he was so scared that somebody else had found the bug that he drew fast. Or the fucking bug does not work on the iPhone.
Okay, only one of these is apparent, that would be A)
* Wikileaks was not contacted before the search, despite Wikileaks having at least two journalists which are recognized members of the German Press Association (Deutscher Presse Verband).
Okay, this is stupid. Do they actually expect the police to kindly ask a suspected criminal if they could raid their premises?
...foolish insistence on having private shipyards build warships...its not really right to say that privatization makes any sense. The Navy really does need to...take on its own construction, and just clear out some of the cost overruns and red tape
I read this and thought at first that tjstork was arguing in favor of a socialist policy of nationalisation, on the grounds that the government can run a large project with less bureaucracy than private industry. But that just can't be right, can it?
Well, I'm pretty sure his point is that private industry may have less bureaucracy, but certainly a bigger desire to cash in on the project than the government. Which is completely bogus of course, because we all know that private companies not only always deliver, but also always on time and for the projected cost, esp. when working from the public pocket, right?
No, the price difference is so the Faithful can run around flaunting their glowing logo and think they are superior people. Bah.
No, we do it so people like you can feel superior flaunting your non-glowing logo. You need every little bit of joy in your life you can get, and we are quite generous.
I don't think it is right to hold the speaker responsible for other peoples actions - unless these other people are minors or mentally handicapped perhaps.
So if some person, let's call him Hinkler, said that all, errm, all Shews should be killed, and millions of Shews were killed, Hinkler would not be responsible?
But as you said, everything from my Samsung LCD TV to the firmware of my BIOS, to Nokia (note, Nokia, not AT&T) publishing software updates, even -major- updates, like "enabling accelerometer" for free (remind you of the "activate the Wireless N hardware" charge?) have all been free.
Hrrm, Samsung you say? And Nokia? Which one of them is publicly traded in the USA and as such subject to SOX?
They are. Thanks for agreeing. What does the price have to do with income however? It's well known Mac owners make more money.

So if Mac OS X is so damn unsecure and Windows XP is so fucking secure, why are there far more exploits out for XP? Marketshare?
Apparently the safari exploit

You must be mistaking Afghanistan with Iraq - but then Americans have problems finding their own country on a map.
By that logic, simply mirroring a child porn site would be okay?
Some details of the search raise questions:

We could genetically engeer a new algae that sequesters all the CO2 it can and then sinks to the bottom of the ocean.
That may not work as well as predicted.
It's hard to really consider a suburb, but there really isn't much there, so I'd be hard pressed to call it a "city" either.
Before urban sprawl, I think they called it a "town"
Provided all of the 4 sites are correct, the emissions from cars a year is probably about 5 to 8 times more than volcanoes a year.
Not counting the CO2 from the production of the cars.
Sorry, but volcanoes you can't see at night suck. Lightning from the dust cloud is a minimum.
To be fair... I think the US Congress labels any spending that benefits a single state or group as "pork". So, ya, volcano monitoring is pork.
So would watching a super volcano not be pork?
I thought it was "Conservatism means never having to say you're wrong".
Is that a trick question?
Yeah, you are right - let's go back to the CLI car.
Well, we are comparing a high-quality, professional-grade laptop with a cheap low-end Dell that's designed for college students.
And that's only fair when comparing prices, right?

So did Nokia America deliver the firmware? No they didn't.
It's about time the iPhone got copy&paste, else one couldn't write masterpieces like that on it!
Sorry, how can you possibly link an aborted fetus to pornography?
I would presume that the fetuses are naked, and nudity is often equated with pornography
Not to mention they are obviously under age.

Whatever, WMF.
