  1. Re:Wireless Mighty Mouse on Bluetooth Versus Wireless Mice · · Score: 1

It is definitely finger sensitive, a fact that is even promoted as a feature in the product information. Even if you get used to the need to not rest multiple fingers on the mouse, it still presents a problem for if you want to press more than one of the top three "buttons". That isn't something you can do right or wrong, it simply doesn't work.

  2. Re:Wireless Mighty Mouse on Bluetooth Versus Wireless Mice · · Score: 1

To be completely correct about it, there are three physical buttons. The side buttons are the simplest as it is just squeezing. The left and right click functions are implemented using the same button by sensing where your finger is located. This fails if you rest your fingers on the mouse or want to use both buttons at the same time. Last is the wheel, which actually doesn't get clicked itself. Instead, when the wheel is pressed, the main button functions as a middle mouse button. All together, this means you can only have two of the four "buttons" pressed at any time.

I omitted the details for the sake of simplicity, as it is mainly the left vs right function that is problematic.

  3. Re:Wireless Mighty Mouse on Bluetooth Versus Wireless Mice · · Score: 3, Interesting

Unfortunately, I've found the Mighty Mouse completely unusable. They continued using a single button, and instead it senses where your finder is to determine if you are left or right clicking. If you rest your fingers on the mouse, it can't detect this properly and instead always registers a left click. I wasn't able to get used to this and instead just went back to using the trackpad.

The current version of UnrealEd is done with lots of Win32 code, but I believe they are basing the next version (for Unreal Engine 3) on wxWidgets. That should make it pretty easy for them to port it to linux.

One of the main things to remember about Winamp3 is that it wasn't the rewrite that hurt it, but AOL forcing Nullsoft to release it far too soon. The beta versions released after the 1.0 release were far faster and fixed many of the complaints people had about the Winamp3.

I used Winamp3 for quite a while, but have since moved on to foobar2000.

  7. Re:RealOne on Which Adware and Spyware are the Most Insidious? · · Score: 1

The best alternative I know of to RealOne is Media Player Classic. It needs Real's software installed to play the files, but you can remove most of Realplayer if you know how, and it will still work. It will also play quicktime files if you have quicktime installed. Another option is a RealMedia DirectShow Splitter. It will let you play Realmedia files in any Directshow player (Media player classic, Windows media player, and many others).

I think the actual quote is something about connecting his 1 megabit ethernet router(or something like that) to his token ring lan configuration. I am pretty sure that his question did make sense if you knew all of the terms.
Although his question was meaningless to most people, it would make sense to a geek.
