    Actually, the ME disaster was a plus for MS.
    They couldn't get people off the 9x platform.
    Windows ME forced people to go to Windows 2000.

    -MS will not share this "business advantage"
    -Many do not trust MS updates. Especially since the Aug 2007 secret auto-update.

    I have a Motorola KRZR and the phone says it's getting charged when I plug it into my PC.

    What I have heard is that charging it via a USB port can overcharge the battery and shorten the battery life greatly. That might explain why other KRZR users complain about the battery dying quickly after 6 months. (I'll be able to confirm in 5 months)

    You are right.
    The strange thing is that some FF updates do get installed with XP's "Limited User" accounts but some just fail.
    No rhyme, no reason.
    For those that failed I had to log on with an Admin account and let the FF update install.

    FF needs a updater service that runs in the System context so that all FF updates can get installed without the user being logged on as an administrator.

    Same deal here.
    We run the super-vulnerable IE 6x.
    All 10000 PCs.

    Some of us run FF to go on the Internet but that is a BIG no no. It's a "gotta follow the corp standard" thing.

    Corps won't change either, cause their most computer-illiterate users happens to be their CIO and his/her underlings.

    If something huge happens, FF may actually get into corps even without a Mozilla-created, Corp-approved MSI package.

    Nope.
    MSI uses GUIDs all over the place.
    Serious Admins get tools to create a database of GUIDs make sure that none conflict.

    If they do conflict then one of the 2 MSIs must be changed or not be installed on the same box.

    Unless you recycle water and flush with grey water OR you drink like a dog, You can drink the water in the toilet tank.
