Knoppix-STD is incredible. Current version boots up stock in KDE but hitting F2 on boot screen allows user to use different GUI's like Fluxbox. Next version of STD looks like it's going to dump KDE totally (thank god).
Base Knoppix to me is more of a means to draw in Could-be-linux users by allowing them to use linux without installing linux. For system recovery STD is much better suited.
I'm not a computer guy...I'm a satellite guy. But I'm forced to use DMS daily and it's been nothing but problems. From my standpoint I blame the first slew of problems on our lame excuses for "IT People". I consider myself very well versed in computers.....but these people suck. So once DMS got to us...we had two months worth of "install problems". I just sit back and laugh at these wanna be IT morons. Now the Air Force decided to merge admit with IT. This is becoming fun! Oh and ofcourse...they don't let me crosstrain into computers. Oh did I mention teh sparc in the back of my shop's been on for over 4 years monitoring all of my circuits without a hitch!
If everyone just spent a little extra time with their kids. Parents are the first to blame video games but god forbid they spend some quality time with their youngins.
I just don't see the point to piss off everyone in order for someone to make money.
Nothing more aggrevating than pointless and worthless ads. There is enough "air time" for buisnesses on TV and Radio that if you havn't heard of a certain product then you don't need it anyway.
Or just download the songs you want and burn them onto a CD. $300 for my car MP3 player...$1 a CD..and 10 minutes of time and I now have 200+ songs that "i wanna hear"
