Well, I tried Warp and the problem for me was RAM. You see, at the time, a 386sx40 with 4MB of RAM and a 170MB HD was an average machine but it wasn't enough to run Warp decently. Warp just didn't run at Warp speeds on that hardware. If Warp would have appeared a few years earlier, the problem would have been worse.
Exactly! It's probably written to accommodate IE and they've broken standards compliance in the process.
The Firefox hate is getting old and annoying. So, they've made a few minor mistakes recently but they've recognized that and they're adapting and doing so quite quickly.
I don't get how so many people diss Firefox after all they've done for the web and continue doing for free!. They're moving and adapting at a very fast pace and competing with companies that are over 100 times their size.
Haters, your bitching is not making any difference. If you want to make a difference, contribute or STFU!
Yes, the lack of a good Netflix plugin is a sore spot but that's a Netflix problem, not XBMC. I'm running XBMC on an ATV2 so it's pretty simple to exit XBMC and run the Netflix app from Apple.
s/scrapping/scraping - Slashdot really should let you edit a comment for a few minutes after a post. I know that's what the preview is for but for some reason, I only notice mistakes after posting!
That's just the tip of the iceberg for me. The scrapping quality, the PVR intergration, the plugins, the hardware support, the multi-os support, ease of use, foss, the community, etc etc etc...
The product is head and shoulders above the competition. There's really nothing out there that you can reasonably compare it to. It's that good.
Having said that Google's search has noticeably deteriorated over the last couple of years. I often have to hit the Nth page now to find stuff I'm looking for.
You're doing it wrong. If the results on the first page are off, refine your search. Manual searching should be a last resort.
You're right. There's obvious copyright infringement in these photographs. We should stop taking photos of the Pyramids and the Eiffel tower too, just in case. Wouldn't want to get sued.
That was bad terminology on my part. I meant copyright protection and a reasonable time limit in addition to reasonable profit would be great. If $100,000,000 profit is made within the first month, then what are we protecting them from? Is protection really needed?
You cannot have a sensible business model based on "you invest 100 million so that we can develop this game, then we'll give it away for free afterwards because people are only going to pirate it anyway". You won't get the investment in the first place, and your next game will have to be made for free, including people's time.
Kickstarter is a great model to follow and I'd love to see our system move towards something like it. If we could just demote greed from our culture a little, we'll get there eventually.
That's how the system is supposed to work and if it did, I'd have no problem with it. Unfortunately, that's not how it works. It's much more complex than that and you're seeing exactly what they want you to see. You say that Starcraft 2 would not have been created because nobody is going to pay $100 million but that's not true. I didn't pay for Starcraft 2 until it was finished and the $100 million had already been paid for. Who do you think paid that money up front? Honest gamers? Nope. Investors. Most of which will never play the game. These investors will try to squeeze as much money out of you as possible and sue anyone who stands in their way. They couldn't care less about the game, who is making it or who is playing it. They just want to create money without ever lifting a finger. The only work they do is lobby the government for laws that keep their unfair money making scheme running.
Exactly! Doing something once and getting paid a hundred million times for it is a loophole in our system and it desperately needs to be fixed. Sadly the people who took advantage of this loophole have made enough money which has given them power to control the goverment and preserve the loophole.

My Motorolal Atrix has a fingerprint reader. Combine that with a long password, encrypted filesystem and it's getting pretty secure.
They're all pretty close in terms on security features so it comes down to the one that's updated the quickest.

You can also solve the problem in a more general way by implementing Universal Basic Income.

+1 for mentioning NX and the tone was totally appropriate for the comment that it responded to so I don't know why the Troll moderation.
Excellent post! I would love to see a reply with equal quality so if there's anyone out there with some Wayland answers, please post!
Stephen Harper has always been very far from Canadian values. It's more apparent now because he has a majority government.
I hope they go with Wayland .
The first hit for gphoto2 support canon rebel t1i is http://gphoto.sourceforge.net/doc/remote/ so either you picked a really bad example or you're just making shit up.
The quality of the results usually reflect the quality of the question. Try advanced search and you'll very rarely need scan more than 1 - 2 pages.

Yes, if Linux was a monopoly and it didn't follow the rules.
You bet I would if had $50,000,000,000.00.

Sure you can.

How about copy protection until the creators have made a reasonable profit. That goes for software, music, movies, patents, drugs etc.
