    I am in agreement with Mister Transistor on this one. Abuse of the terrorist label seems to be going up, not down. I was going to suggest we call what's going on now McCarthyism v2.

    Stop voting for Republicans or Democrats. For the rest of your life if you have to. When enough people abandon ship either a new party will come into power or--more likely--one of the major two will change their tune to gather up more votes.

    If it doesn't matter who you vote for then why are the Republicans falling all over themselves trying to get the Latino vote back?

    You're right. Rather than take civil action now by speaking up for rule of law and signing some petitions we ought to wait until the problem is bad enough that we have to take violent action.

    Or to put it another way, if you're afraid to sign a petition then we are already in deep, deep trouble

    Try living for a while in a world in which women have the physical advantage, where you get passed over for promotions because you're male, where you get hassled by women because you're male and where you are largely locked out of certain industries because you are male.

    If they're doing so much good why do they have to do it on the sly then?

    Frankly, it's not what they're promoting as much as it is their attempt to buy the country. Despite what some may think the US is for all citizens, not just the wealthy. We are either a nation of laws or we are just another third world tribal warlord society.

    Indeed. I vote Green whenever there is a Green candidate. It's not so much that I adore their politics as it is I abhor the Republicans and Democrats. It may be a lost cause but I refuse to support what is going on.

    The upside to this is that when somebody wants to update that nifty company Flash web site and discovers that Flash now costs an arm and a leg, the site gets re-written in html.

    It's not the shallowness aspect that I found interesting. I wonder how they know how big the grave was in the other dimensions? Surely after 500 years the soil would have become homogenous. I'm assuming the same soil that was dug for the grave was put back in.

    In all cases it seems like good detective work to me.

    Wish I had a mod point for you. This is the definitive post, if you ask me.

    I set my email app to check once per hour and I put a sig on my emails that says if something is urgent to call me. I stopped logging into to IM years ago after I realized I was being interrupted every 15 minutes by a control freak who wanted to run me by remote control.

    Well, I love the PDA-ish aspect of smartphones, but it's a bit depressing when you think about how crappy we thought POTS sound was and then listen to how much worse a cell phone is. Giant step backwards.

    Actually, they don't. You haven't been paying attention if you don't realize there are many liberals unhappy with Obama.

    The other point I should have been explicit about, since it was missed, is not that it's OK to do because the other guys did it. The point was that the conservatives are a bunch if hypocrites.

    Do you know how England got to be that way? Trying to make themselves safe from IRA terrorism. Look for more and more cameras in the US, in other words. Just look how quickly the Boston Marathon bomber idiots were caught thanks to public surveillance. Just as most people thought that porno-scanners in airports were a fine idea because "it made them safe" they'll be fine with more and more cameras.
