"That same equipment can be used to process other 35mm film."
Not likely. The K-14 process is very different from everything else. I would bet that by the time you retrofit the machine you could have purchased a new Refrema, which I think is still the industry standard for dip and dunk processing.
How is the parent a troll? Then again, that's the only reason I read this article, for the ad hominem attacks on Apple users. And the anti-Apple crowd does not disappoint.:-)
Perhaps news stories will then have to appear with NO headlines. People will be forced to delve into each story to figure out what it is about. I see an underground internet movement springing up that provides access to mapping stories up with "illegal" headlines, hosted on servers located on boats with satellite connections and guarded by some guys with wooden legs. Bumper stickers will start appearing. "Free the Headlines!" Most people, however, will avoid illegal headline servers and continue to wander aimlessly through their newspapers trying to figure out what they might like to read. Eventually they will get tired of this and stop reading newspapers altogether.
"Eliminating unlimited data plans is a logical step in maximizing profits."
That's funny, because for me it's the next step in reducing my expenses. I am not one of those people who downloads gigs worth of stuff per month on my phone. In fact, my lifetime download on my iPhone is right around 950MB. That's for 2 1/2 years worth of using it to check email constantly, surf the web whenever I want and do some occasional Youtube viewing. With AT&T's new plan I can cut my data plan cost in half.
I don't know about the attention problems created or not created by the Net, but I can say that the internet is making me dumber in one aspect, and that is spelling and grammar. In the old days most news and information was filtered through professional organizations, and irrespective of the veracity of such reports at least the grammar and spelling was usually close to perfect.
These days I am exposed to so much bad spelling and grammar that it is having an effect on me. I increasingly find myself not even noticing spelling errors, which bothers me.
"I'm a light iPhone user. I almost never use it to check mail, and only occasionally use it to browse the web. Even still, I rack up an average of 300 MB per month."
If you're a light iPhone user then what am I? I check my mail constantly, surf the web a fair amount, use the Maps app and watch Youtube videos from time to time and I just checked my LIFETIME download amount and it is 927MB. That is for 2 and a half YEARS of usage.
I am thrilled by the new plan because it means I can either start saving a nice chunk of change on my iPhone bill OR I can buy an iPad with the same low end data plan and be spending the same about as I had been on my phone.
True, but that really just points up that you should never, ever show something before it is ready. People--even bosses--will only see the glaring things that are wrong. They won't skip past that stuff to see the potential. I think that is one reason Apple is so successful. When they roll out a product it is really ready to go. Don't get excited, I didn't say they were perfect.

You left out Radar O'Reilly.
Except this isn't a scandal. It is a relatively minor technical glitch.
That's it. I am unfriending China.
They may have been penitent, but I believe the word you are looking for is pittance.
Pfft. Even with Verizon you get zero bars in a dry county.
Doesn't someone have a mod point for this post? The poster nails it in the first sentence.

"I expect this product to become the next Zune."
What's a Zune?
Welcome to my friends list.

"Dr. Nick Riviera would've done a better job than they did"
Personally, I would prefer to be under the care of Dr. Leo Spaceman. He's a damn good doctor. And a pretty good dentist.
I think you meant killer app.
Who do you think you are? Sharon Angle?
"... has done some legitimate hacking and cracking..."
I'm not sure you made this joke intentionally, but there it is.
"Software doesn't have to be perfect out of the shoot."
Are you saying software is like a bullet? Or perhaps you meant chute.
Good point. I meant not noticing them until later. When it's embarrassing.

Really now, that's a tad draconian. There's no need for vaseline.
No, people CAN handle choices. And they're choosing the iPad.
Getting modded up for describing HTML 5 as a proprietary format is beyond me.
