I will miss tuning the engine, changing the oil, inspecting the spark plugs, changing the air filter, trying to get it to pass a smog check, actually, no I wouldn't.
"Is a camera a luxury good?"
At this point in time I would say it is because to buy a camera these days means you have a serious interest in photography, everyone else uses their phone to take pictures. If you are planning to use said camera for a business you can always write it off as a business expense.
How about this for a definition of necessity? If you have to pay for it anyway, meaning you don't have a choice, then it is a necessity. If I really need to go to the bathroom and there is a 25 cent charge to use the facilities then I don't have a choice but to pay the fee. This is not rocket science people.
Wouldn't this require some kind of national registry? I am trying to picture this in my mind.
Trump: I have implemented a national gun registry to keep the bad guys from getting guns but only the bad guys. If you like your guns you can keep your guns!
I thought Rome fell because they based their economy on plundering other lands. Eventually they ran out of lands to plunder and the money ran out. Even when they went from a Republic to being ruled by an emperor they still lasted quite a long time.
What was that old expression? Something like "I did not speak up when they came for X because I was not X,... when they finally came for me there was no one else (to defend me)".
They are planning on getting rid of team driving first. Instead of paying 2 people, one resting while the other drives, just pay one person and the AI will do most of the driving. It is just like when garbage collecting used to be a 2 person job, one drives while the other picks up the cans, now it is just the one driver who operates a mechanical claw to pick up the cans.
I find it fascinating that people would complain about something like this but not spending a billion dollars on a sports stadium with mostly tax payer money. Now that is a waste. If Jeff Bezos wants to build the world's largest toilet in order to flush money down it then I don't care as long as it's his money.
I have read about Bill Gates' philanthropy particularly towards Africa which is fine but I would like to see him invest in something that the whole world will be able to appreciate, namely funding the cancelled Overwhelmingly Large Telescope. Imagine viewing exoplanets with that monster scope!
Doesn't the US consume 19 MM barrels per day? Seems like we still need to import oil.

Yes but then if demand for gas is reduced then refining will be reduced then pumping the oil will be reduced and that will drive the price up.
The only reason the rich create jobs is to get richer. Period.

So what you are saying is taxes should be adjusted based on cost of living? What a concept!
So how come every other industrialized nation can provide health care? What makes us different?

After seven years I only got a raise because there was a mass exodus of my fellow coworkers. I consider it more of a bribe to stay.
He could be right, I've heard many criminals obtain their guns by stealing them from legit owners.
But gun manufacturers will make less and less money! Won't someone think of the gun manufacturers!

Do you have a source you can link to this knife massacre in China? I'd like to read it.

Do you try to repair your tv when it is broken or do you get a newer, better model? That is what "robot repair" is going to be like.
You really think guns will be able to hold back tanks and planes?

Tech companies want lower salaries, that is the reason.
What you really want is Asian Barbie. She can code and has the looks. In fact, there is a real-life one where I work.

Well, according to conservatives if you are poor it is because you are lazy.

We will then have to suffer having cleaner air and clearer skies.
