I think TOS should be written at an 8th grade reading level just like they do with Informed Consent for research studies. However, parents should be shot for letting their 12-15 year old have a smart phone. People are making FB profiles for new borns for Christ sake. Sad....
Actors have more economic value than children. And, gov depends on using social networking as crime prevention. So, get them while they're young, I guess.
If all they are trying to do is keep their citizen's data within their own country and out of foreign hands, I don't see the problem. We bitch when China hacks our credit cards, so finding legal loopholes to do the same thing when companies have no business to personal info isn't so different, regardless of how "righteous" you think yours is.

When the Federal Trade Commission plans to award $25k to whomever can prevent wifi device hacking, it's not as simple as a don't give the device your wifi password. There's sooooo many things to exploit these days in networking. Honestly, they'll probably force an Internet connection or void the warranty or do like what HP did and release a firmware update to make older devices stop working or prevent out-of-company parts from working.

I'd argue that the "fall" has to do a lot with the web browsers and SSL increase. A lot more people are conscious of privacy these days than they were a year ago. The only thing Safari and Internet Explorer are good for is to download Firefox or Chrome; that has to be messing with the detection, especially since Firefox has third party tracking protection built in. Who doesn't use Adblock, Privacy Badger, Ghostery, or NoScript? I'm sure anyone reading this is using something like that or has heard of them. So, the default on websites would appear to be Windows due to a "when in doubt." Windows is the generic goto browser for most user-agent info.
And then, you have SSL encryption (https) which protects data from man in the middle stuff that could be causing it. The MAC address info (usually standardized for brand cataloging) may not show up at all; I'm not really sure.
And another thing, when DoD is at the end of their rope and their systems have gone to shit and have to hire outside help, it'll be a guy popping in a CD or USB and the boot screen will say Tails or Kali. I guarantee it.
Here is a radical idea. Just use Linux and not have to spend a dime? Most super computers use it but our DoD is using Windows? That makes sense. Doesn't matter if they have the source code or not. Matter of fact, Windows 10 is already open source, so I don't see how that means anything. Still crappy. More people actually look at the source code in the Linux community than Windows users do, even though there's a rumor that there's more Windows source code on Github. If there is a big, it'll take them forever to find it. It happens every now and then in Linux, but then you actually find out that someone found a bug in a Linux kernel, but got ignored and then you end up with Dirty Cow, which isn't that bad compared to everything else that Windows has or has had in the past. If there is a second Cold War and it is predominantly cyber attacks, we are screwed relying on Windows. Call it a cliche, but Linux and Ham radio will always win.
The only way Twitter is going to be in trouble is if people read stories like this and believe it. Then, investors freak out and pull out. Then they will go bankrupt and guess who saves the day? Facebook. -_-. Agents are trying to get Twitter into trouble because they revoked the government's API keys for tracking software that they used. Facebook, the almighty private life spy God, steps in to "save the day," just like they did with Whatsapp after being accused as a platform for ISIS communication. Twitter was also asked to help keep a log of Muslim users and they refused. They also refuse on many occasions to take down users because of free speech, hateful or not; it's all relative anyway. That's all this is and won't be anything more if people had half an ounce of intelligence to it buy into this crap.
Buy a Systems76 computer and then install Windows if you need to, or better yet, ReactOS. It's an open source version that actually works very well.
That out of the way, Micro$oft joins the Linux Foundation and just a day later, popular Linux blogs start advertising their cloud services, including Outlook. Meanwhile, a VERY popular email client like Thunderbird barely makes funding. They are clouding us all out of true free and open source software and Linux Foundation got greedy now that Linux touched 2-3% market share. It's literally a play by play of "The Art of War" by Sun Tzu. http://m.wikihow.com/Understan...
1. "Realize that the victorious strategist is he who only seeks battle after the victory has been won."
Micro$oft occupies about 80%+ or so of desktops. Victory has already been won.
2. "Understand that the control of a large force is no different than controlling of a few men, being merely the question of dividing the force."
This was achieved via game consoles, mobile devices, cloud platforms, etc., including the addition of Linux bash and Unity interface for Windows 10, spyware in sheep's clothing.
3. "Know that to fight and conquer in all your battles is not supreme excellence."
Micro$oft gets backlash all the time, including viruses, spying, backdoors wide open, etc. but has a fanboy, misinformed community that only want to play video games (hence Cortana) and mostly a culture of Millennials that could care less about privacy. There is no "fight" or "conquering" when the enemy doesn't even know they've already conceded defeat. You "cool geeks" have been assimilated.
3. "Know that it is an essential in war to know when to attack."
They don't have to when they got fans to do it for them. Kinda like loving your crappy car and getting mad when people hate on it, even though you know it sucks and didn't listen or notice the signs to not buy it in the first place. Once you buy a W10 PC, the hole is too deep to get out of most of the time, usually due to hardware that prevents installation of Linux (easily), including "Chrimebooks."
4. "Know your enemy as you know yourself. In war, let your objective be victory and not lengthy campaign."
This is a proprietary vs. FREE and open source issue. Micro$oft only recently started acknowledging Linux as a legitimate OS to make us all feel warm and gooey inside (guess what they goo really is). That's a parasite growing inside and it only feeds on freedom and privacy. However in the Linux world, free and open source is something sacred. All it has ever had was a "lengthy campaign."
5. "Understand that the clever combatant imposes his will on the enemy and does not allow his will to be imposed on him."
"Throw in you're enemy's way that which he cannot comprehend. This will force him to come out even of the darkest of shadows and reveal himself."
Linux used to be about providing an free and open source platform for everyone, but this requires founding. So, Micro$oft partners with Canonical (Ubuntu) to make it more lucrative. Linux people generally do not intend to make money with their developed software, or at least as a substantial part of income. The "revealing" here is trusted organizations selling out due to economic doubts that are just going to get worse thanks to Silly Con You Valley speeding nonsense. Hence: "Divide his forces and keep your forces concentrated."
"Supreme strategy (Micro$oft) always aids the inferior side (Linux, but superior in my opinion). Do not repeat those tactics that have previously gained you victory. Let your methods be regulated by the infinite variety of circumstances."
There's another quote in the book that deals with using your enemies recourses rather than your own. If Micro$oft "loves" open source, that's all this is, and selfishly so. They know they will never design a fast and secure system as well as a Linux machine for cloud computing, which gives them total control but still claim "open source." So, they build their own L

So, did the value of my Grey's Anatomy book go up or down? Fingers crossed.

Replace "big" with bug. Autocorrect.

Did this on my phone. Seems like my paragraphs aren't working. Sorry. ðY...
