  1. Re:SJW crap on 'Star Trek: Discovery' Premieres Tonight (ew.com) · · Score: 1

    You're such a fucking putz.

A black woman as a bridge OFFICER? An alien as the first officer? Women admirals who outranked men? Who fucking cares! That's the point!

Star trek was about all that being normal, everyday, so common no one who grew up in the federation cared of even fucking noticed. Gender? Who cares! We got 'em all. Culture? Who cares! We got 'em all. Welcome to the party!

When you have a society that's supposed to be open and tolerant you don't make fucking episodes about the gender identity angst of the show's main characters. That's what the fucking aliens you run into are for. "Hey, you there, alien, you're not tolerant. That's a bit weird, let me show you how we do it so that nobody gets killed by such random ignorance."

I guarantee this show will have the main characters, who grew up in a tolerant society, weekly espousing confusion/angst/identity crisis over some stupid SJW issue.

    Fuck you CBS.

  2. You must not have watched Star Wars. Luke doesn't duel Vader until two movies in, and he loses. Rey not only duels Darth Teenage Angst, she beats him, in a single movie.

If you think about it, even Luke's transition from zero to hero was blazing fast. In Ep 1 we see that the typical path to Jedi Master is to start young and take 20 yrs. Even Yoda said Luke was "too old". So Luke's run to master was already an extreme exception; and he barely managed to squeak out a victory in the end. Recall that he would have been burnt toast had Vader not tossed the Emperor over the railing. Now, it takes half a movie with the hero acing the bad guy with a Mortal Kombat finishing move. So if you consider it along a single time line, zero-to-hero has gone from decades (Ep1-3), to years (Ep4-6), to... what weeks? Months?

And frankly, I think that's what people wanted to see. These days, nobody wants to wait 3 movies for the cool transition to power; so Abrams sure as hell wasn't going to retell the Luke story in 3 movies. He did what he had to do and crammed it all into one.

  3. But it's cool when Luke does the same thing. Why don't you go jack off your loser mens' rights buddies at a misogyny convention or something instead of polluting the forum here.

It took 3 movies for Luke to become a Jedi Master, so no, Luke did not do the same thing. Whatever the reason, these days no one wants to wait that long for the Dopamine payoff. Hell, pretty soon even 17 min will seem "long".

Without seeing a scatter plot of the data, or other diagnostics such as, outliers, leverage, or residual plots, there's no way to assess the validity or make inferences about the result.

The low correlation may be because the relationship is not linear, there are outliers, the data is bi-modal, etc.

There's a lot more to this stuff than running CORREL() in Excel or Libre (but not if you simply need something to blog about of course).

Same here. Windows 7 is my last MS Windows. Like XP, I would still run it after they drop support for gaming and any other legacy needs; probably in a virtual machine though.

  6. But the complaint is that we're a safe harbour for pirate sites, not that we have less draconian laws than the rightsholders would like us to have. Although, that's likely the point of this latest broadside, as usual. Well, bring it on Trump! We know where the Baldwins and the Arquette's live (you remember what happened last time), and we're through apologising for Brian Adams.

Yep. I have XP and Firefox running on a Phenom X4 and it's great for all my legacy needs. I also run a Win7 box with hardware bought in 2007 (Core2Quad) and that runs fine too. By the time Win7 ends it's life I assume there will be free commercial software that no longer supports it, e.g., Skype, Chrome etc, assuming they still exist, but you get the idea. If I need to run something I can't on Win7 because of corporate fuckyouism I'll move to Linux.

I recently bought the Phenom II X4 945 dropped it in an AM2+/AM3 board I had lying around. It's now my FreeNAS server. I have another Phenom II X4 960T running WinXP for old time's sake (which will soon be switched over to Linux).

But remember that in some parts of the world, coding is cheap and what we might think of as a low income wage goes a long way.

You could try to be more transparent and stand by the software you're peddling by being open, upfront, and honest instead of posting as AC to shill your software. I wouldn't trust you. I would trust something like Pi-hole though precisely because it is open and transparent; and, presumably does the same thing.
