In Ripley Park, it is illegal to walk backwards EATING PEANUTS when there is a performance in the Barn Stormers Auditorium. OH FSCKING GOD I LAUGHED SO HARD I CRIED WHEN I SAW THIS ONE!
I have a question. I HAVE a big screen TV,a nd on white screens (as in people skiing) you get the NASTY ON THE EYES 60Hz flicker. The same on 30mm film. Is that visible on digital?
Well, who reads the EULA anyway? I just click NEXT so fast it isnt funny (In fact, i probably ghave rights to my brain to some Tiwanese geurillas but cant be bound to it because oim 13 =P)
He hit the nail right on the head. The only reason I don't use Linux is usability with the web. I used to glare at the IE user and laugh, until IE4.0 came about. I've tried my best to go about with netscape, to no avail. Until NS5.0 (yeah right because of AOL) we ARE going to be behind in the war. I love my toying machine in the basement running FreeBSD-Current, but I can't but browse the web with lynx. Lets all pray to Tux for a browser of proportions larger than IE.
ATTENTION TO THIS POOR COMMENT! You cannot, from what I understand, copy DVD to DVD, not only because DVD-RAM does not have enough storage capacity, but because the DVD Drive(s) themselves do not allow it. The easier way would be to rip it and MPEG4-ify it. See my previous comment Here, this may clear things up.
Alas, My dear coward. You cannot copy DVD to DVD. The hardware will not let you, poor soul filled with cowardace! Let your cowardace free, and grab an account!
Here's a few Counterstrikes (for lack of a better word) to your answers of why NOT to copy a DVD
1. COMPRESSION! MPEG-4 Video is great. Sure there are some artifacts, but because of "keyframes" (frames that contain all the data of that frame), They are corrected rather quickly. MP3 Audio works fine for audio (that's with the exception of true audiophiles, keep it at.ac3)
2. You DON'T need to play them from your computer's HDD! 1-2GB Full movies fit on a DVD-RAM just fine.
3. DVDs are Cheap!I AGREE! When you rent them and rip them. It takes a good 25-30 min to rip a movie.
I Don't plan to pirate what I copy. That's just plain wrong. I keep them for my personal use, and if I did want to pirate it, it wouldn't be cost-effective. DVD-RAM Drive: $5000? DVD-RAM Disc: $25. DVD Rental: $5. My Time: Priceless.

I heard (a VERY long while back) that the Pentiums had a very minute FPU error (after some cryptically large number)... Wonder if anyone has sued them for that?
Heh. You think THATS bad? I betcha AIBO doesnt pull ya around town flying UP hills at a cool 20 MPH! and I betcha it doesnt try to EAT the vaccuum cleaner and the mower when its running now does it?

Haha dont burn yer house down but we got neighbors like that and they got no mufflers on their cars. 1AM down the road and they say they can hear my mp3s.
Especially the James Bond stuff. Love it. I got a few offspring and Smashmouth in there and thats about it (and for good measure the Star Wars Imperial Death March =P)
those TB size "drives" arent drives at all. They are refrigerator-sized drives. You could warm a friggin room on the exaust on one of those! I would really like a 1TB 3.5" HD though.
What does this have to do with Linux or even computing in general? Someone PLEASE tell me (and to the AC that just posted first, please dont be such an idiot)
It's gonna happen one way or another. But what if the crackers are just pulling their leg? I mean, they could just call up a bank, get the Head Suit, and tada, big payoff. But, If they are telling the truth, its their vault, pay whoever they want with it.
Well, Think about it. If (and I haven't been following their Linux distro, im just happy with FreeBSD) they gave something big planned, they should keep it closed-source until they are ready to release it. But the legality? No idea, i dont think it is... Dunno. Just my $.02....
It will be using the IBM 400MHz copper PPC chip (actually a subset of the PPC arch) and an ArtX (companmy formed by old SGI workers) chipset, using a Matsushita DVD drive, but wont play DVDs. the Matsushita version of the drive will (because the DVD alliance people want $20 for each system that plays DVDs, idiots) so just to clarify a few things (and it WONT have a cartridge port to play yer old n64 games)
FreeBSD does not complain about the hyphen. Linux, being the pain it is, does.
Amen. *sigh* well... We all kick the bucket sometime...
no, Armed Revolution = Leninism.

And im suing you for spelling cease wrong! Cease and desist now or you will be \.ed with a BACKWARDS SLASH!
They dont even have many pars there anymore. www.arrow.com or radioshack's website are helpful.

Redundant as you may wish, Yeah, if you own a big old production plant.

Well, I woundlty rely on floppys anyway to hold data.

Wow. People are crazy. The thing's already fast enough. 1.5GFLOP? My science teacher has one. I would kill for that and this is on a 600MHz PIII.
