It should be noted that Beckerman was forever banished from The Anchorage Daily News on July 25, 2000, after asking a cheerleader how it feels to be a urine stain on the toilet seat of America. As it turns out, neither the cheerleader nor Beckerman's editor found that interview question particularly amusing.
ROFL, i found that question extremely amusing. Cheerleading is a pointless gimmick, it is almost as pointless as the actual game they are cheering (at least the game is responsible for getting a few dumb jocks where they belong - in hospital;). The entire ensemble is a pointless crowd of dropouts. The cheerleaders make the jocks believe that playing a game all your life is a worthy cause of humanity, the jocks make the cheerleaders think that all life's matters run down to having big breasts and blonde hair, and the worse thing about it, is that some of them are actually successful at it. Had i known about this scam earlier on, i would have become a footballer so i could rip millions from stupid people instead of following art and science. Oh maybe that's hypocritical. Cheerleaders are definitely the urine stain on the toilet of America, luckily I am not in America, and I grew up in schools that didn't have this stupid tradition.
Ok, so what we have here is a stick with wheels and an array of gyros and computers just to keep it balanced. What does it do? _exactly_ the same thing as a human, it balances and moves from a to b. Why would you need this??? well lets look at the pros and cons:
CONS -It can't go as fast as a car or bike (even a push bike) (it probably can't even out-run skateboards or roller blades. -It can't go as far as the average person can walk before needing a re-charge. -It doesn't offer shelter from the wind an rain. -It doesn't give you a seat to sit on, so you end up standing for 20mins (what is the difference between standing on a segway, and standing on the train in rush-hour? - at least a train does more than 10mph). -It looks even stupider than those smart-scooters or whatever, its basically just a fashion statement that says "Hey, i've got lots of money and like looking a prat". -Its expensive, so it will get stolen. -Its expensive so no-one will buy it. -No-one will buy it unless they see lots of other people riding it, no-one will ride it because no-one else is, therefore, no-one will buy it. -Its a novelty. -No-one will redesign cities around it unless everyone is riding it, no-one will ride it, because the cities are not designed for it.
The only place people will ride it is at a few demos, they will think its pretty kewl, and then 20mins later they will get bored and go look at something else, like that new dancing penguin.
oh yes, i almost forgot. PROS: -Um... Maybe students could use it around campus.. oh, no wait they can't afford it, Oh. sorry. Pros anyone??
Maybe they figure that if they can get some rich celebs who are dumb enough to fall for it, other people will buy it. Kinda like the fashion industry.

Yeah yeah, but they have to balance it out man. Otherwise the teams are unfair - they will probably say something like "15 min charge up and it drains energy from the fuel cells so no more than 20 shots before you have to re-fuel" they will probably make the helicopter slower to make it fair. Hopefully there will be a config file so you can tweek the settings like in RA. Also, they could give the russians tesla-copters too.
Couldn't someone use that method to come up with a list of ip's that run harvesting bots and then create a blacklist so the hosters could ban them.
also, more isp's should set-up (optional of course) server-side filters with spam blacklists. Most offer filter scripts, but not pre-loaded with the blacklists.

Your program failed to compile and as such there are no marks awarded for some sections.
The code lacked basic layout, nesting and the only comment was your name and assignment number at the top. The code was badly designed and had un-necessary use of goto's. Memory allocations where inefficient and unstable.
As far as human rights (i.e. the right to live, the right to express yourself, etc) the US is unsurpassed.
Err, sorry, no. I think if you look at the UN Human Freedom Index you will find that you are far from unsurpassed (do i bother going on about exicutions, strapping people in chairs and cooking them, poluting the planet, sticking your nose in where its not wanted, and police that randomly beat up black people and stick innocent programmers in prison?)
Ok, Here is a guide to all those producers who want a great Sci-Fi show:
1. When you come up with a good first series that everyone likes, don't EVER change it. I don't care if you want to explore some bull shit artsy scenario that you learned in art school DONT. Don't change locations, don't change situations and NEVER EVER in a million F*cking years change the characters or actors.
X-Files - Started great, then they suddenly took scully out with some stupid cancer government conspiracy. No-one watched it. They learnt their lesson and when back and did a great couple of series. Then mulder leaves. I didn't even bother watching that.
Red Dwarf - Excellent, and then what? the last series was utter crap. I had only just got used to the new directing and loss of rimmer in the previous series when they just screwed it all up.
Buffy - Started great, then they moved to college. And please understand this simple fact: Most people who watch Sci-Fi are male geeks. We do NOT like watching dumb footballer/jocks getting with hot girls. Lesbian is fine. Otherwise, keep the jocks in embarrassing situations to make us feel happy.
Half-Life - Who liked the Zen levels? Thought not.
All these sci-fi series have died because someone decided to change the formula. Now look at:
Friends (yes i know, not Sci-Fi) they have kept it the same throughout. They even live in the same place and its still great to watch.
2. Do not piss off the actors. The actors make the show. Cloning is not yet available to make new ones, so, if you piss them off you are dead. And don't try any "Oh no, bobs changed shape.. because...um he changes form every 2 years" it doesn't fool us (well maybe in Dr. Who). If the actor wants more money - give it to them. If they want some say in the plot - let them write it. We worship them, so don't piss them off.
How the hell can you call your country the land of the free when your not even allowed to import a piece of wire. And no, don't give me any bull shit stories of IP protection. It is a bit of wire, with at the most a couple of components soldered on. Its not a nuke, a vile of anthrax or cuban cigars (Why the _hell_ are these banned in a free country???) its just metal, and plastic. Ok, maybe you could strangle someone with it - but for crists sake, you let 12 year olds by automatic weapons. ROFL serves you all right.
I was almost done sulking in my own self-pitty when you stuck it in my face. I had promised myself, that if any annoying cute cuddly couples got in my way today and rubbed in how crap my crap life is, i would strangle one of them (probably the guy). This troll/flame has made me feel better. So thankyou slashdot (PS. Please have it in your heart not to mod me down:)
Just what my point is - your so impressed by the features of DVD (which lets face it, aren't that amazing, or difficult to develop) that you forget about the restrictions.
Before, i was convinced that Microsoft's obsession with closed source was an evil plan to allow them to hide malicious code in Windows so they could take over computers/internet/world. Now i have come to realise, that the real reason is because they are so incompetent that they don't want anyone to see the crap, uncommented, un-nested, spaghetti code that they call software, for risk of other corporations laughing at them, like a lecturer laughs at the bottom-of-the-class student who submits their half-assed assignment code that looks like a 3-year old wrote it (i'm sure many 3 year olds could actually write decent code:) If anyone witnessed what was really in the operating system their business was relying on, they would rather have BBC BASIC (oh, wait, VB _is_ BASIC rofl:)
Now i have realised that Microsoft couldn't plant code in Windows to take over the world, because they can't code, and are too busy writing software that will try to stop your computer working if you change more than 5 bits of hardware.
No one understands the truth behind DVDs outside slashdot and a few other groups. As far as the general public is concerned, DVDs are god, and the best thing since sliced bread. If you try to explain to them that DVD is just a method for large corporations to control you, what you own, and what you have the right to do then they give you a dirty look.
The people need to be educated about region encoding, macrovision and the fact that the producer can even control your fast-forward button. I object to any system that implements an artificial limitation on hardware that you own. If its in my house, then i have access to the circuitry, thus i can make it do what i like - ok so its very hard to mod a player, but its technically possible, therefore the manufacturer shouldn't bother putting in the restrictions in the first place.
Oh god oh why?? why WinCE 3.0??? it has to be the single worst oparating system (mobile or otherwise) since the dawn of mankind. _Any_ OS is better. Its devoid of even the most basic functionality and features. Its unstable, its full of shit, and just to top it off, its made by them... Just look at the Pocket PC user sites, the most popular programs are just utilities that add basic things like being-able-to-switch-and-close-tasks... why would they leave this out of such an OS? were they in a big rush to finish the entire thing in under a week? because thats what it looks like. But seriously, could someone please tell me why it is so crap?
We must get more offshore manufactures like china etc. to build more dodgy devices - DVD players that strip macrovision, let you fast-forward anywere. PVRs that don't give you _any_ limits, and allow you to tinker with them. Not to mention pre modded games consoles. These countries are our only chance, and they could make an absolute killing if they mass produced these devices and sold them cheap to us.
LOL, no, instead people would get little bits of card and blue-tac and stick them over the banners (if the station kept on moving the banner every few mins, the viewer could just move the card. Apart from pissing allot of people off, it would also create a niche market for little set top boxes that would allow you to 'draw' a box on the screen with a remote and move it around - thus not having to get up.
who cares if they patent links? i will carry on clicking links, you will carry on clicking links. People will still make browsers, people will still make web-sites with links. Who is going to enforce royalty payment on hyper-linking? I copy CDs, pirate everything in site and click links all day long. No-one is going to arrest me.
Just like the stupid _American_ companies that patent 'rice' or 'breathing air as a hemoglobin transfer function' what do i care? And those farmers who are being sued because patented GM seeds blew onto their land and they didn't kill them in time. Screw patents, screw capitalist pigs who make billions on a couple of ideas. IMHO everyone should get credit for their work, but they shouldn't be able to restrict what other people do with the same ideas.
Why not just rent a DVD for the night, copy it, burnit/divx or whatever's your poison. Take it back. Or if you can find a big store that fires its staff weekly, you can just keep returning your dvds - if the staff keep changing, no-one will catch on.
Remember folks: Piracy hurts no-one, big corporations are capitalist pigs. producers will only spend your money on illigal drugs and prostitutes.
And most important - If you don't have money to waste, then you were never intending to buy the dvd in the first place - face it, you were _never_ going to buy the film, you would never watch it. Is that a crime? no, not buying something is your right. So, if you were never going to buy it, but you do get the pirate copy, no one looses out - you were never going to buy it anyway so you have deprived no-one of a potential sale. Don't argue with this, i have thought it out very carefully, ok argue if you wish but you will surely loose - go ahead.
If companies want to screw with their customers, then that's their right. Most of them get away with it because customers have no idea what's going on. Most people will fork-out the rip-off price for a new version of windows because they don't know any better. If people were educated as to what they're getting into then most would realise that they are just buying a very expensive bit of plastic, containing a program funded by the richest man on earth, written by monkeys, which cost next to nothing to make but sells for so much.
Most people don't even understand the concept that Windows is an OS and not part of the computer. They call the hard drive the C drive as if that was what it was. Why would anyone use such a stupid naming convention?
I haven't paid for a version of windows since Win 95, when it came with my computer. Since then i have loyally stuck it out with Microsoft - upgrading to Win98 and then WinME (All pirate of course). Since XP came out i have decided not to upgrade, because to do so would be to downgrade. As soon as i get a motherboard and soundcard that works with Linux without bringing the whole system down, i will leave windows to lamerz who like having their life and money controlled by Bill Gates. Oh, yeah, and i also have a PocketPC, with WinCE 3 which is the crappiest OS in the existence of mankind - i suppose that counts as buying Windows.
What we need is more public service ads, not saying "stay in school" or bull shit like that, but explaining things like Open/Closed source, the price of pressing a CD, why DVD sucks, and how Bill Gates became the richest man alive.
