The reason is understandable, but there should an opt-in or some kind of disclosure. Something like "This app keeps your microphone initialized for a better user experience. This "feature" can be disabled in the programs settings."
It's a Mac, most kids I know have an iPod. Install OS X and boot from that, or go buy a cheap firewire HD, or better yet, I'm pretty sure these ibooks had airport and not airport extreme, which is supported under linux. Boot from a Linux live cd and have at it...
Actually, if people would do their research before posting, you would find out that Linspire has done a lot for OSS. They have contributed to wine,kde,mozilla,kde-look.org,reiser just to name a few actually (5). As for as Lsongs and Lphoto, they are written in python so you can get it to work on any distro with python installed.
Ask them for a year subscription to their whole courseware offering, there is alot of stuff offered. They do most of the military IT training. It's mentored also, so if you have a question you just ask. I paid $1800 for a full year to everything they offer. There parent company is Skillsoft, which is really who the courses are offered through. You also get a full year access to their book library which is quite extensive. As others have said, install Linux on your network, fedora, suse and also some like debian, Linux from scratch, gentoo.
I'm actually glad that it was cracked. Yes I buy some of my music off of iTunes. But I also like to play my music on all "MY" computers. 15 to be exact only being able to play my music on 5 is an annoyance.
Actually, it has the debian apt sources.. Well atleast all 4.0.x releases does, and I'm pretty sure 5.0 will also. I use Lindows, I also use just about every other Linux out there. Linux is like ice cream, the more flavors the better.
It would be in Microsoft's better interest to release a version of Windows for the Xbox than Linux. And that would just mean more money they can gain from the sale of the Xbox. Not only would they control the software, but also the hardware. Isn't this exactly what they want to do with Secure Computing Base a.k.a. Palladium? Just put a package together containing Windows, keyboard, and mouse that will connect to the Xbox via the controller ports, and slap a nice little pricetag on it.
If this is in fact true, what are the effects of cellular phones... Studies have been done to see if they cause cancer and such.. What about them making you smarter or dumber????
Florida will probably get shot down.
Too soon?
"Too soon?" <--- Only to the under 21 crowd...
Ignoring the fact that Donald Trump didn't make Hillary run an illegal private email server that contained classified information.

As a species, we can't be scared to innovate and progress just because it might destroy and industry.
I want a mute switch for ignorant politicians...
I knew iPad's cost an arm and a leg, but now a kidney? Apple has gone to far...
Steve Jobs has been uploaded to the iCloud... He will be missed!
My company decide to listen to me...
And is surprises you that Windows is buggy as hell and their products are always delayed?
Sorry, but as of May 2, 2005, Movielink no longer supports Windows 98 and ME operating systems.
Movielink also does not support Mac or Linux.
In order to enjoy the Movielink service, you must use Windows 2000 or XP,
which support certain technologies we utilize for downloading movies.
If its anything like this it will never work. I would rather stick to torrents, and it has nothing to do with the the price.

What, you wanted everyone with a low user id to post?

Since apple is "so into OSS" they need to go ahead and add .ogg support also. If Apple is trying to sale iPods I think that would do the trick.
I just bought a Kodak cx4310 at Wal-Mart for around $98, which I can use as a USB drive, I did however buy a 128mb SD card for it.
In later news, Crest sues Lindows.com for including its Fluoride source IP in its version of the Linux kernel.
