The US is complaining about it? I think not, we just aren't participating. As has been mentioned elsewhere, the vote against it was 98-0 in our Senate, so it wasn't even a partisan political matter.

No, it is unfair because it's not a uniform standard for all signatory nations. Read it and read some analysis of it before you shoot your text off.

I won't even bother arguing your 'point's about Kennedy's accomplishments because you're trolling.

My question to you though is thus: let's accept for the sake of argument that you're points are correct. Does that mean he should get away with vehicular homicide?

In fact I *do* know what 3rd degree burns are, because I've had them. I never thought once about suing the maker of the stove that caused them.

Lawsuits like that (McDonalds) are BS, plain and simple. You can try to excuse them away, but the fact remains that she bought a hot, potentially scalding liquid. She should have been more careful.

That's one of the biggest cop out reply I've ever seen here, and I've been around /. for quite a few years. When will people start taking responsibility for their own actions? The lady in the lawsuit put the coffee between her legs and drove off, thus spilling it. Coffee is hot. Hot stuff can cause burns. 'nuff said.

IANAEE, but if the system is very efficient, it doesn't matter how much power it's consuming with regards to the consumption of the CPU. An optical CPU should still generate far less heat than an electronic CPU with far lower efficiency, given the same levels of power consumption.
