Changing the clocks is confusing twice a year. Having different time than neighboring states is confusing for at least five months per year.
In the past you would have been correct, but almost no one stores that information anymore. MOST people just ask Google what time it is in whatever city they are currently thinking about calling, or travelling to.
This foolishness costs millions in lost productivity each year, and the number of auto accidents increases for a week after both spring and fall time changes. All this downside for zero upside.
It is long past time for this foolishness to end.
This seems like a very bad idea.
True hackers tend to be very individualistic, and as a group probably have a higher than average number of atheists. If I were qualified, I would have tried to get in on this with my first goal being to open up a back door so I could leak Vatican secrets at my convenience for a long time to come.
Seriously, is there something that Microsoft can do that won't be perceived as evil?
No.
Personally Microsoft has faded to near total irrelevancy for me. I get an occasional question, but I just tell people to Google it.
Linux Mint, and LibreOffice get everything done that I need to do. It would be nice if Outlook were available, but Thunderbird with the Lightening calendar add on is damn close.
You mean the American (US) system where I got an emergency transport from work via ambulance and never got a bill for anything at all? That horrible system?
No, I mean the "system" where a my sister (Adopted, dual citizen) was billed over $200,000 for an injury sustained falling off a horse, and she did have healthcare, that she paid an obscene about for that didn't cover shit.
Compare that to my brother, who had a serious motorcycle accident, at least four operations, one severe post-op infection, and months of physio therapy, and didn't pay a dime out of pocket.
Someone needs to go to jail over this. Not some low level flunky either, someone with C_O or Director after their name.
Security will not improve until senior people are held accountable.
If you get an ambulance from work, in BC, it is $150 if I recall correctly.
Many years ago I sneezed, and threw out my back at work. I could hardly move at all. I was taken to the the hospital by ambulance, given two shots, and went home in a cab. Fell into bed and slept for 14 hours. It was a bit of a shock when that bill came in and it was 3 times what I expected.
Still, beats the hell out of the American system.
That's nice. I still don't care. Are you trying to sell me on e-books? Don't bother, I don't want them, and I don't have any desire to discuss it.:-) I said what I wanted to say about it, and that's that.:-)
I think e-books were and are still a solution looking for a problem.
I ride the train too and from work. Over an hour each way. E-books are fantastic. I have about 200 of my favourite books in digital form on my e-book, when I finish a book there are many more just waiting. This has eliminated finishing a book on my way to work, and having nothing to read on the way home.
I love it so much that I have even got rid of most of my dead tree library. Only keeping a few books that I have yet to find in digital format, and a few of sentimental value.
I do keep all my e-books backed up on my computer at home, just in case.
My wife and I converted our entire house to LEDs over the last two years, and we're very happy. Less $ spent on electricity, plus I don't have to change bulbs as often; in fact, I've yet to change one since we started the conversion.
I just recently had my first LED bulb burn out. I have been replacing incandescent and CFL bulbs with LEDs for the past 5 years.
The price on LED lighting has come down so much, that I have just finished converting my entire house to LED lighting. It has made a big difference in my electric bill. Also big power sucking CRT TVs are being replaced rapidly with LED backlit flat screens.
I would expect the electric use to start a downward trend from this point.
At least for me, they were an escape from what I endured day in and day out in that festering shithole they called a School. The hell I endured being a computer geek in the 1980's, just so I could go to school and get an education.
It paid off, I make a good living, and have a great life now. But on many days going home and playing violent video games saved me from doing something I would now regret. (Not that they didn't have it coming, but jail would not have been a happy environment for me.)
It has to be light, designed to take quite a lot of pressure, shock, and vibration, and deal with temperatures, and it has to separate reliably. These are hard to make and expensive. In some cases the mission requires a custom fairing.

Who doesn't think it is fun to crash planes? (In simulation)
The first Flight sim I ever had, I would take the plane as high as possible, then dive and see if I could break the sound barrier on the way down. Or extend the flaps at extreme speed, and tear the wings off.
I doubt a computer could count how many time I crashed the 737 into the twin towers, trying to fly between them in level flight. Or how many times I crashed into the river trying to fly under the bridge in MS flight sim.
Strangely, I am not now, nor have I ever been a terrorist. (Although I do play one on TV.)
Best one I ever saw was on Operation Flashpoint. In network play, if it saw another player with the same serial number, it would work fine for an hour or so, then start randomly crashing, slowly getting worse. A reinstall would fix it. It was kind of cool that you could get a quick 2 player game up, but then you were stuck with a reinstall.
But once it saw the other player with the same serial number, you were going to have to reinstall even if it never saw that player again.
Trading money to desperate people for their chance to reproduce.
If he would like to give me money to not reproduce, I would be more than happy to take his cash.
Is there anything else I can NOT do, for cash? I am really good at not doing things.
She is married and has kids of her own now. (How the hell did I get to be old enough to be a grandfather?) But if I did have younger kids I would totally lojack their phones and computers. I would tell them about it too.
But if anyone out there is thinking about using something like this on their SO, don't. First of all it is a massive breach of trust. Secondly if you feel that you NEED to spy on your SO, then it is already over, just walk away with some dignity.
An even sadder attempt at a comeback..... Epicly original.
A cat video quip... How original..
Sarcasm... Equally original.
How am I supposed to watch cat videos now?
So far so good.

I don't suppose it's Al Bundy... unless they're talking about shoe store jobs
After hearing some of his complaints over many years I don't think I want to work in the shoe store.

Please direct me to where I can purchase an orbital class Estes rocket.
All Estes rockets are orbital class. Where do you think all the lost rockets end up?

Come one SlashDot, I need contact info. Who exactly do I need to talk to, to get on this gravytrain?
How about this?
