Ummm.. no, it's not the same thing at all. Philanthropists offer to give their money for a "good cause". The public have their money taken away from them under the threat of imprisionment. If the only difference between the two is free will and you think that they're the "same thing" then maybe libertarianism isn't for you.

You know that ad on tv with the "protecting Australia's $800 billion economy", we should put something together that adds a line right below it "by sucking US cock" or something slightly less inflamitary like "with the blood of our soldiers". Give the people a little reminder that this coming election isn't about "trust" as the tv is trying to make it, it's about Howard selling us out at every opportunity. Is it any wonder that Gough Witlam is the most remembered Australian Prime Minister?

Reading bad code is good for you also. You just have to recognise that it is bad. It's easy to tell what is good code and what is bad code. Set yourself a maintenance task. If it takes you half as long to complete the task on one code base as it does on the other then it is fair to say the first code base is better than the second (assuming equal levels of complexity).

If developing nations are going to embrace Free Software then surely that means they will be doing a lot of development on Free Software. The populations of these countries are enormous. Could it be that soon a large amount of Free Software development will be done in third world countries? Could it be that the majority of it will be? In which case won't you feel a bit guilty about using Free Software, especially for business. After all you're capitalising on the work of developing nations, just like those evil corporations.
